Re: Tunnel Trouble
There was 1 fan arrested in front of the CF after shouting something towards Choudhury over near the SU fans. Handcuffed and led away.

Re: Tunnel Trouble
Thought Wilder was very good in his interview about security after the pitch invasion, after missing out on the automatic spots and losing a big game to then handle it as well as he did I thought was very good. He could have really gone to town on Burnley as a club and our fan base which were bang out of order for some of the stuff they did on the pitch.
Having said that I don't know why we don't have provisional security measures in place, would it not be easier before the game to tell them to gather by the dugouts with security then usher them all down the Bob Lord side quick clap to their fans then through the doors behind the away end?
Walking across the pitch like that is dangerous, BBD looked like he'd shat himself he was petrified

Wilder is a proper tosser but he is right, sooner or later someone will get hurt/assaulted.
We seem to do very little to stop people running on. Unsure why G4S didn’t just grab random ppl and march them out of the corner, would be clear in minutes at the threat of getting banned.

The only way this kind of thing will be stopped is if individuals who run onto the pitch are identified and banned.

So what’s the point of the Club paying them to be there then? Seems a little pointless.

Didn’t a fan nut billy sharp during a pitch invasion at forest a few years back? Probably why they were a bit touchy about it.

Their role is to help supporters and ensure safety. Also to identify issues, deal with them where they safely can do, and report them to police to deal with if not.Claretincraven wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 1:06 pmSo what’s the point of the Club paying them to be there then? Seems a little pointless.
They are stewards, not nightclub bouncers.

Choudary was upset that fans celebrated too close to him.
Complete non-story.

Re: Tunnel Trouble
No surprise really, every man and his dog knew there would be a pitch invasion.
The security was poor, should and could have been better organised for the players safety.

Re: Tunnel Trouble
You have to special kind of special to be the only one of a couple of thousand getting their collar felt when a pitch invasion is otherwise having a blind eye turned to it.
Re: Tunnel Trouble
A Burnley fan called "Kyle" told talk sport this morning that the club never made any announcements to keep people off the field and that's why it happens
Some fans don't help matters.
It was on the screen and announced many times

Regardless of security - if determined fans want to get on the pitch, they'll get on the pitch.
Mind you, I would arrest those who were pouncing about on the pitch with their mobile phones pointed toward their own faces while recording THEMSELVES. The same goes for any bloke who has ever taken a selfie, unless it's for ID purposes.

A bit stupid last night but nothing that will get us in serious trouble, maybe a small fine. I don't think you can stop it really either, unless you can stop us getting promoted every other year.
Re: Tunnel Trouble
There were no announcements saying don't pinch the wallet of the guy sat next to you, doesn't mean it's ok for Kyle to nick it.

Kyle sounds like the kind of guy who needs someone to remind him to breathe in, then out, then in again. To be fair we have quite a lot of Kyles among us.

Re: Tunnel Trouble
Whilst I agree that going on the pitch at the end is wrong for fans to do so I did notice a small group from the Bob Lord made there way on and stood at the centre (yes Mr Pace we know who you are)
Absolute disgraceful actions during the game from Choudery and his gesticulations to the Bob Lord near the end as he lost it , then when security tried to lead him straight off he pushed them away and made his way to the sheffield supporters whilst giving it large and he even pushed away a Police officer. One of there players who was on the bench committed common assault when we scored the penalty by squirting water at the fans behind him some had knocked on the perspex roof, just as the Sheffield players did when the scored, several supporters who had done nothing to him except cheer our goal were hit by the water. The incident reported to steward. If fans had done that they would be thrown out

Re: Tunnel Trouble
I would have preferred our fans and definitely the players to be more gracious in victory, hard to watch and enjoy some of the more provocative celebrations. Parker has class, maybe he'll reflect back and have a word with his young team at some point.
I guess "****-housery" is more acceptable these days though, and we may as well be the best at that too.

Any kids or adults for that matter have only themselves to blame if they start goading opposition players and something unsavoury happens to them.Accrington claret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 9:03 pmSeemed to be trouble around the Sheff utd coach after the game
Apparently a sheffield player spat his chewing gum at a young claret.
Burnley fans weren't happy about it and surged towards the coach
Really sheffield players showed a lack of class and should have just ignored Burnley fans trying to wind them up
Perhaps they'll stay clear of the away team coach in future. Can't blame any Sheffield United players.

So there wasn’t actually a point in literally hundreds of them lining up round the pitch then.

They took the hump because fans were celebrating in front of them, what did they expect. Even most Sheff U fans say their players should just have got of the pitch asap. The FA have to look at it, but I can't see there being anything to punish us for.
I do think the club should hand out lifetime bans to anyone seen as giving it large on the pitch, to either players or fans. There's no need for it.
Re: Tunnel Trouble
Hard to tell for sure from the footage but think the players were just trying to get towards the friends and family section in the lower JH to celebrate, you can see Barnes waving to them after Choudhry was hauled down the tunnel. Sort of understandable if Choudhry misconstrued it- he was already het up.Stanbill05 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 5:43 pmI would have preferred our fans and definitely the players to be more gracious in victory, hard to watch and enjoy some of the more provocative celebrations. As for the fans behaviour, well scrotes gonna scrote… not sure what you can do about it really when there’s a pitch invasion post promotion other than ban/charge people who were aggressive/abusive.

Re: Tunnel Trouble
I guess as a visible deterrent? A clear signal that going on the pitch isn't allowed? They aren't there to start rugby tackling scrotes though. They aren't trained for that, paid for that or (I'd imagine) legally allowed to do it.Claretincraven wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 6:03 pmSo there wasn’t actually a point in literally hundreds of them lining up round the pitch then.

Spijed we walk right past the entrance to the player's coach as leave the CFS, it is difficult to stay clear of it.

Re: Tunnel Trouble
Ive watched the end of the game several times and feel that my original view was, idiot supporters ran on to the field, security tried to direct the Sheffield players to the players exit , but at least 5 of them shrugged off the security then the police to go to clap there fans. Now in perfect world of course you would do so, but the Sheffield team and manager had only a week or so ago had trouble when they objected to Plymouth players celebrating the win as they walked past the Sheffield fans right next to the exit. I compare it to that in a perfect world when we won the league at Ewood as I was making my way home I could go into a town centre Blackburn fan pub with my claret shirt on get a pint and perhaps have a smile on my face. So if I did would the Blackburn fans say well done shake my hand bye me several fans and walk with me to make sure I got home safely . Or may be they say ''I say old chap wrong pub please leave'' and book me a taxi or more likely id get the living day lights kicked out of me and be found laying out side the pub .

Maybe the club might look to get the sound system sorted so people can actually hear the announcements. Not that it's an excuse for anyone to go on the pitch.

A fantastic sound system with announcements in clear English and any other languages required, aren't going to stop any complete two hat who has already chosen to ignore :-claret wizard wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 1:50 pmMaybe the club might look to get the sound system sorted so people can actually hear the announcements. 1. The law of the land
2. Visible messages on two massive screens visible from all 4 corners of the ground
3. Lines of stewards standing between them and the pitch just prior to the final whistle
4. memories of previous years when the exact same things have happened
Stupid will do what stupid wants and unfortunately, no level of barriers to that stupidity will ever stop them. The only hope is one day they'll be embarrassed about their behaviour, but sadly that will almost certainly not be the case with these numbnuts!

Re: Tunnel Trouble
if it’s the same player I’m thinking of Choudhury had lost it long before the final whistle.
He was ready to kick off every time we made a sub and the outgoing player didn’t leave the pitch fast enough for his liking. Not surprised he saw his arse at the end.

Make sure it's the end of the game, we don't want a repeat of the scenes when the parachutist got stuck on the Cricket Field Stand roof and delayed Kick Off by about 45 minutes!
That said, if flags are considered contraband, then good luck sneaking your hang glider in under your vest
