A very special season .

Post by Wile E Coyote » Sat May 03, 2025 10:36 pm

Getting promoted with the stats the team has achieved is nothing short of remarkable.
Hellishly tough division , and from the disruption Scott Parker had to face upon his arrival , to going up on 100 points must rank as one of the clubs high water marks in their history.
Annoying as it was have top spot taken at such a late stage of the afternoon, there can be no real disappointment .
There was one aim, for this squad, and they hit the target with a real fighting spirit.
Fabulous season. Well done Burnley.

It was a great season and building a squad from almost scratch and welding them into a cohesive unbeatable team speaks volumes for SP and his back room team.

33 undefeated
Only 1 shy of VK’s points haul.
Only side ever to reach 100 points and not win the league.
An entire season unbeaten at home
An entire season of not conceding more than 1 goal in a game
16 goals conceded all season
Unbeaten against our 2 other promotion rivals
Equalling the clean sheets record that has stood for well over half a century.

There may be more records I’ve missed in there, and the squad certainly did not deserve that last minute Leeds winner yesterday but out of the two, I know which team id rather be heading into the new season, and it ain’t Leeds.

Might be a blessing in disguise not going up as champions, all eyes will be on Leeds now, what with them being a massive club. Expectations were way too high last time around, hopefully we can go about our business quietly, strengthen in a few key areas and keep the team spirit together.

I agree with that. I actually thought top half last time around. Laughable really in hindsight. This time I’d snap your hand off for 17th and a chance to build.

Four second half goals conceded all season. Two goals conceded in the last 30 minutes of games all season. Unbelievable

Hope they get a proper break now during the close season and aren't brought back early like they were with Kompany
