I just Sing Burnley Burnley Burnley instead of Allez Allez AllezAlargeClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 8:44 pmFor some reason this struggles to really spread from the CFS when sung at home , though the allez allez is pretty sh1t .its the kind of song that works brilliantly ,BUT only once imo . Though there’s so few songs we sing these days , need to be grateful for anything really .
To think that we used to sing “ you’ll never walk alone “ in the early mid 80’s .
Can’t help Falling in love with you was a good chant back in the day

Pass it back, pass it sideways, back to Trafford.
Pass it back, pass it sideways, I pray,
Pass it back, pass it sideways, back to Trafford.
Playing football Parkers way.

First sung around 70/71. Along with tiptoe through the Longside, and ay, aye, aye aye, Blacklaw is better than Yashin..

One of the most bizarre chants we came across was in the late 80's and related to Stevie Taylor, who had a couple of spells at Burnley.
He travelled around many local clubs and the chant went:
" Stevie Taylor, sucks a horse's pen*s, eats chicken gizzards and wears a floppy hat. He lives in a museum where everyone can see him, Stevie Taylor is a horse's tw*t "
Make of it what you will.

The Bobby Zamora song originated at Fulham my Fulham supporting boss used to frequently sing it at work when he was bored

I'm not sure I ever called it dirge, but I have previously posted that I really didn't like it. To be honest, until earlier in the season, I thought it sounded pretty bad. But its certainly improved. When masses are singing it, and more in tune and proper tempo, I think it sounds great

Watching that video one would never guess that Roberts is famously teetotal
Contrasting him to some of the ones, like Edwards, who seem quite quiet and shy, its a real mix in the dressing room and requires superb management to gel them all together.

I remember an unusual Peter Leebrook song but maybe best we don't bring that back!
