Burnley Banksy

I'd completely missed this, but it's brilliant and I'll be taking the kids for a nosey.

We see so much ugly uninspiring graffiti so to see something as likeable as this is just great.
A massive well done to the artist.

On the other side of the canal, on the slope under the bridge, me and my friend wrote our names in huge green letters. Was there for a long time too.

This is the wall along one end of Hereford United's Edgar St.
you can still just see “Bury Clarets” and “Burnley” been there since 1976.

Hate to be a killjoy but the council have condemned it....why
Because they can't now identify any defects in the structure
So they now have to remove all the paintwork apparently

Was interviewed by a guy from radio lancashire a couple of weeks ago about them.

I walk past them dailey.

The worst kind of graffiti vandalism.

Aren't we taught that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'; so someone else might like what you or I consider 'ugly and uninspiring' and therein lies the problem: If we accept and even compliment/encourage this graffiti because we like it, then what right do we have to label graffiti which isn't to our taste, as ugly/offensive/vandalism and call for its immediate removal? We might say 'good taste', but that just takes us back to that eye of the beholder argument; it's either all artistic (to someone's eye) or all anti-social vandalism.

Not what you are saying - the council verdict! They have loads of murals on concrete supports, all over the country.

Some minion, jobsworth, undoing other Minions!

Another example of spray paint art on a bridge structure in Lewes covered on Meridian TV this evening. The artwork was approved and undertaken by a charity. Think link on: https://www.facebook.com/ucanspray/?locale=en_GB

Personally, love the graffiti on Yorkshire Street. I think the council should make it a feature of that street.
