Terrible news, very sorry to hear. His brother also passed away in the crash. It's said it was caused by a tyre blowout while overtaking - is that quite an uncommon occurence? It's a terrifying thought, particularly if you're traveling at good speed on a motorway.

Horrendous beyond words. RIP.

Just goes to show that life for all of us relies on luck and random “wrong time wrong place” situations.

A word of support for Liverpool players too. It’ll be so hard mentally to not blame themselves, e.g. blaming themselves for not winning their dominant 2022 CL Final which would have seen Jota in the US not in Spain today. Mental health isn’t always logical so I feel for them and very much hope we give them our full respect at the Turf in August.

We take that fragility of life for granted sometimes, and shouldn’t.

RIP Jota, always seemed a likeable guy.
Tragic news seems a genuine accident as well with a burst tyre causing the crash. Imagine the high he has been on too just won the premier league, won the nations league and got married poor lad and family.

So sad RIP to both them and condolences to their families.

You only get one go at this life, if you're lucky enough to have a family, give them an extra hug today.

Life can be tough but try to be grateful even for the hardest of days and where money and circumstances allow, don't put off the things you can enjoy.

RIP

After his family and friends, it will be incredibly hard for his Liverpool and Portugal team-mates and everybody at his club/national team.

Truely shocking, I was expecting something football related… that he was going to be late back in Liverpool for training or he was mulling over moving on. How sad. He seemed from those who knew him to be a really nice fella. RIP
