Happy 4th July to all the American Clarets out there and also to any ex-pats who happen to get dragged along to the celebrations.
Top tip to any Brits caught up in Independence Day parties - make sure you play your part and pretend like you're secretly genuinely peeved at "losing the colonies". It makes the whole thing even more fun.
Have a great time our American brethren but PLEASE! Do NOT throw any tea into the harbour. This really does vex us.

Thanks! I'm Burnley born and grew up in Nelson... but since I've been here 30 odd years, I celebrate with the best of them! (Even though we lost...sort of!) I call it "Traitors' Day" just to wind up the locals... my American wife loves it!

I work in digital marketing and genuinely had one of my clients reply and complain because I emailed her today.Hanoverusaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 3:02 amThanks! My shirt for this year’s celebration.
Some found it funny, but not all.
