Zadar is an absolutely beautiful place, Highly recommend sitting drinking Pan watching the best sunsets you will ever see

TT , please do the Black taxi tour when you are in Belfast , if you like recent history from both sides of the devide you will find it and more .
Do not bother with the Titanic museum to be honest .

We are regulars in Belfast, Tribesmen. There and back on the train on FTP and all our trips in NI the same. I’ll look into the Black taxi tour. Being tight we were going to go up and down the Falls Rd on the Glider. I wanted to do George Best house but sadly it is Fridays only.

Last time i was there, sat by the Sea Organ, there was some absolute bellend with an amp and sax on the round light feature doing awful covers of dance anthems drowning out the natural sounds.

It was all i could do to not punt him and his bloody saxophone into the water.

Yer each to their own really , but for me the one stand out thing about Titanic museum is that there was nothing from the titanic in the museum , not even a door knob.
Yes a rivet that was going to go on it and some card of an invite to the opening day kind of but nothing from the actual ship .
For me it's a bit like going to a Burnley football shirt museum then only finding pictures of shirts and showing you how they were made but no shirts .

Already done Panama, stayed with relatives, and Lisbon, Mrs Ts birthday treat from the girls.
Few days in Belfast at end of month, Carcasonne in September and last one of the year hasn’t been named yet.
Neither of us are beach or bar bums. We just like visiting different cities.

Belfast is great, get the hop on hop off bus 2 day ticket, it takes you everywhere. You can get off on Falls road and experience the Catholic IRA side of things, the Bobby Sands murial, etc. Jump back on and get off on Shankill road, I've never seen so many union jacks and tributes to the monarchy. It's amazing to be able to walk around these places that were once only seen on the news when there was a bombing or an assassination. Even in 2025 they still lock the gates at night that separate the two communities to prevent escalation.
Jump back on the bus and go to Crumlin road prison, a brilliant place to see.
The Titanic museum my wife and I both enjoyed, she the story and me the history of shipbuilding in Belfast.
There's some great pubs and places to eat, it's a better place to visit than Dublin, you'll love it.

As I wrote earlier we have been many time and walked Shankhill Rd and cut through to Crumlin Rd prison. Falls Rd is on the agenda as is Belfast Castle and going up above it to Cave Hill.
My other top tips are Ulster Museum and gardens, CSLewis Sq., which is on the bus route to Stormont also worth a visit. We also got a bus out to the GofT museum. I watched them all but was never a fanatic but the tour is very good.
Tip to others. We spoiled our Prison tour by rushing it. You end up in a long block with displays and videos in each cell. After a while we thought to push on to the next block but there isn’t one. We walked out of the end door and were done. Shame cos I was enjoying what I was learning.

Off to Jersey for a short break in a couple of weeks doing a bit of walking. Looking forward to it as I’ve not been to Jersey in over 45 years. Go to Crete in October for mine and Mrs LC’s 25th wedding anniversary so it’s full bells and whistles then we have our annual 3-4 weeks in Lanzarote over Christmas and New Year.

First holiday in late September after two years having had numerous operations. We don’t go abroad, we like walking holidays in Cornwall, we’re both in our 70s so can’t do long walks anymore but there’s plenty we can do, albeit at an average pace, some good pub lunches or evening meals.

I live in a house overlooking the Med on the Costa del Sol between Benalmadena and Fuengirola. I hate the holiday period in July and August, too many bloody tourists, no parking anywhere, can get a bit too hot to go out walking, can't wait for September to get back to normal.

Zadar is a great place on the Croatian coast. You can get ferries from there to elsewhere in Croatia or Italy, or even do small cruises down towards Dubrovnik etc

We looked at villas around dubrovnik and around split and went with split this year. Next year we fancy going down to Dubrovnik but if price doesnt allow it, anywhere along that cost will do.

Duty free is basically a Londis, so get gifts in town, and the cafe is a kiosk, but there is a nice outdoor bit to sit in overlooking the runway. I can't 100% remember if there was a lounge as they all blur into one tbh

we go to Croatia every year even sometimes twice a year. We go to the island of Hvar from Split.
We stay in a small village .The owner of the villa we stay in is, we could not believe,the father of Igor Tudor the manager of Juventus .A lovely family we have become well known to, through the years. It is a lovely island but a party island most of summer. Zadar is lovely so is Split.

I heard about a horror story of someone's flight getting delayed 5 hours and the airport was allegedly 'a bus station with nothing there.' Didn't sound appealing if the worst happened with a young child.

One of the nice surprises of croatia was a lot of good quality Czech and German beers. We were there for fathers day and i sat in the rooftop pool sampling as many as I could
