Played for Burnley, born in Blackburn

Post by Rosehill Claret » Wed Jul 16, 2025 7:52 pm

Seeing Nathan Peel's name mentioned on another thread prompted me to look at the Wikipedia page about him.

I didn't know he was born in Blackburn.

Are there any other players who played for us, and were born in Blackburn, or vice versa?

Nathan was from Clitheroe, played against him as a kid many a time, if you were from Clitheroe most births were in Bburn, a better player from our age group that didn't make it was Jason Faulker....had it all

Although not technically born in Blackburn, but just outside in Rishton, the one that immediately springs to mind is Martin Dobson.

He’d be in my squad.

On the subject of worst and obscure, has anyone mentioned either Brian Chippendale or Mark Rhodes?

Has there been any Blackburn fans play for us or vice versa? I’m not sure I could do it myself.

I went to school at Pleckgate with Phil Eastwood... think the whole family were Everton fans if I remember rightly. His dad was manager at the Old Blackburnians when I played there (for my sins lol) I was a Burnley fan living in enemy territory. God did I get a lot of ****.

Pearcey was born in Newport. His dad was a boxing champ. Think he went to Hartridge school where my brother played a few years afterwards. He has lived in Darwen for a long time (I think he's still there) He helped my mate get a trial at Burnley and he played in the A and B teams for a while.
