Went on Saturday night, was absolutely exceptional.

My Mrs decided she wasn’t going to drink so we paid for a parking spot about a 40 minute walk away, met friends in pubs on the walk to HP. Walked back to the car park, starving we sat in a nearby McDonald’s and had some scran. 30 mins drive back to Tod and we were home for midnight.

Parked at somewhere called Vision Multi Academy Trust, cost £40 but it was 100% worth it IMO.

It sure was mate, the others had sold out which I think were a bit cheaper (it was very much a last minute thing). Saved a lot of faff though which I was more than grateful for.

Went on Saturday - few tips that might be useful for those going Wendesday / Next weekend

1) We went in early, and got front of front standing. We went in about 3:30, but reckon the front of front standing lasted til 4:30 ish pints were £6.50 and pace of service was very good at Bar 7 (Use the right hand entrance, under the banner - most people seem to turn left)

2) Once in front of front we stayed on the left hand side of the centre of the stage - great views, easier access to toilets and bars, and most importantly closest to the gate that gets you to the tram stop.

3) At the end of the gig, we walked straight out of the exit (which was by the afore mentioned bar 7) and followed the crowds down the hill. We were out of the gig (having watched all of the encore and the fireworks) before the band - they came through with a police esocrt in their cars etc. Anyway, I digress - going this way meant we were at Bowker vale and amongst the first people to get a tram. We were back in Manchester having a pint in the Northern Quarter by 11:05pm. This is very different to people who end up going through other exits,

With regards to the gig itself - absolutely incredible. Cast were good, Ashcroft was amazing - very emotional set, and Oasis were next level. From a crowd perspective, it was a friendly, welcoming group of people, made up of all ages, sexes, colours, creeds, nationalities the lot. People were in great form, friendly, having fun, apologising if they stepped on your toes etc. I did see one fight between 2 lads, but that was the only trouble in a whole weekend in Manchester. My report back to the missus was that I was physically, mentally and emotionally drained - there wasn't a break really from the start of Ashcroft at 7pm, til the end of Oasis at 10:20 ish. The best gig i've ever been to - and there have been lots.

Oasis 19/7/25

What an outstanding and amazing show ( show because it was so much more than just a gig ). From Cast through Richard Ashcroft and then Oasis it was superb entertainment made all the better with the people who not only I went with but people who I've never met before and will probably never see again ( no pints of **** flying around, no scuffles just a mass of humanity there for a good time lost in the moment )

Epic stuff and if you are going to see one of the upcoming dates your in for a treat 🎤 😎 🔥

It was through a friend who went through someone previously with no issues. Apparently he got greedy, and has scarpered with the money. Currently in a dispute with the bank. I’ve read some people who had them as presents for people and didn’t find out until they were due to go in.

I’m still hopeful of recovering my money, but will need to wait and see.

It was through a friend who knew someone. I believe they used ticket master. I wouldn’t usually trust owt like this but my mate is completely trustworthy and has used the people he knew for other gigs without issue. Anyway you live and learn.

Sorry to hear and I'm sure your mate feels a bit crap for recommending. Like you say though, live and learn and you'll be able to save other people money on making sure they avoid what you did.

Possibly going to be a lot missing the gig tonight we drove past Heston Park area on the way home at about 5 and there looked to have been a non traffic related incident on the M69

It’s been a great couple of weeks for Manchester. Such a good vibe around the City and people of all ages just having a good time and enjoying themselves.

With all the trouble in the world we could do with more of these things.

Apparently yesterday Liam and his team sent out loads of free t shirts to the now famous Gallagher Hill with a special Oasis style logo on the front. Oasis also had a camera positioned up there and included the crowd up there on the massive stage screens too for one song. Fair play 👏

Some of the comments on the first 3 pages are hilariously curmudgeonly.

Oasis a group for people that don't like music

Oasis a group for people that don't go to many gigs

I've always thought The Beatles tribute act comments pretty lazy too if I'm honest. Other than "Whatever" which when played live includes Octopus's Garden and I Am The Walrus there's not many more in their canon. Surely a better comparison would we T-Rex, Cigarette's And Alcohol is a rip off of "Get It On" or for that matter Slade and other groups that had a Glam Rock sound

FWIW I've got a eclectic taste in music and probably have a record collection worth north of 35k collected since I was a kid.

Gig wise I've been to roughly 3500 gigs since 1986, seeing many who could be classed as greats along the way, but often frequent grass roots venues to get "my fix" of live music and am now away for the next two weeks at festivals after watching Oasis at the weekend

Oh and having met Liam a couple of times the public persona ( you know the one that sells tickets ) is very different from the one away from the limelight, I can't speak for Noel though having never met him

I’ve always thought the Slade comparison was far more accurate. They don’t sound anything like The Beatles!

Just occurred to me I never put my thoughts down after finally seeing them on the 26th at Wembley. When I started this thread last year as the news dropped I could never anticipate how difficult a trial it would be for me to finally get tickets after the Wi-Fi in our hotel in Tenerife failed me on release day.

Briefly wanted to say that Oasis lived up to everything I had hoped and waited for and were worth every second (and pound) of effort in obtaining tickets. A magical, powerful evening that I’d have to genuinely say was the greatest concert I’ve been to, and that’s of many. It’s not recency bias on my part and perhaps a few days post-gig has allowed me to decompress and fully analyse just what the evening meant to me. It was special, truly. To anyone who has a show still to come (tonight possibly?!), enjoy every single second.

(Word also for Richard Ashcroft who absolutely owned the stage and left me close to tears when he belted out Sonnet, Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky Man etc. So impressive that I actually got me and my Wife tickets for his new album tour in Leeds next year.)

Glad you enjoyed it so much.

I went to Maine Road, Reebok and GMEX back in the day but for me Heaton Park won hands down. I think they sound much better now and the crowd were quite literally mental. I was lucky enough to be in the front enclosure but could barely see a thing, everyone was just going wild. Felt like a pure outpouring of joy, with everyone just having fun themselves in the moment and hardly a phone to be seen. Grown men crying all over the place.

I saw some clips of Wembley too and that looked like all of standing and the seated areas were bouncing. I’ve not seen any other concert like that.

Praying they do Knebworth next year and ideally a new album!

I think I went to that same gig Inchy. It would have been the last Manchester gig before they had fisticuffs/split up...and yeah, felt like they were going through the motions.
Reading current reviews, seems like they're 'mad for it' again.
