Before anyone bleats, if the women's game wishes to be taken seriously as a professional sport, they need to accept the occasional jest at their expense ! Think of the ribbing the men's team would have received given a similar set of penalties ...

I've only just noticed Germany have a player called Minge.

11 out of the 14 penalties in tonight’s penalty shoot out scored. Presumably this now means the women’s game is every bit as good as the men’s.

Childish giggles, obvs, but reminds me of Euro 96 and 11 Kuntz

They seem to make a habit of unfortunate surnames, those of us who've seen a few winters will recall Germany's goal scorer in the 1996 Euro's semi-final, Stefan Kuntz !

If you haven't seen Berger's save to prevent a German own goal last night, go and find it. Really good.

If they play like they did for the first hour against Sweden, they won't beat Italy, never mind Spain.

Right ... I'll say it first !

Why the F*** are England playing in all dark blue, whilst Italy are wearing a kit of washed out green ?? England just needed to change to dark blue shorts, and Italy to wear their normal " Azurro " Blue kit ...

Same as earlier games. Two chalk on heels wingers and Russo isolated in the middle. We can still win after Kelly comes on and Russo gets a partner up front.
James, yet again, looks like she doesn’t want to be there. Better when she went central after they took the lead but there is a much better player in there that she chooses to hide.

Very predictable attacking from England. Their keeper Guiliani can pick those balls out of the air all night.

She was going nowhere with the ball then so the England player fouled her. It happens all the time in mens and womens football. Surely they have played enough to realise not to foul.
