It’s not the best view from the away end, but Koleosho looks as lively as anyone.

People should wait until the players are either subbed or it is the end of the match as Koleosho set up the first goal :)

Pre season 70-80% run about and people are slagging players?!?!?

Wait until December when God forbid.... we are struggling.

Stay with the team and the players or perhaps don't bother. Less stressful.

I'll never get over someone complaining after we beat Plymouth 5 nil away from home.
"First half good. Second half worrying again. Im not talking about not scoring goals either"
I sent a screenshot of it to a groupchat I'm on as I was that amazed with what I'd seen

What is it that possesses people to write such rubbish about players 45 minutes in to pre-season?

To be fair, Foster is approaching the point of no return as a Burnley player, though there's no need for the language towards him.

He's played effectively half the games available since he arrived here and scores at a rate in 1 in 7. No one can agree on what position he should play, and whether it's off the left or as a striker I wouldn't have him as first pick.

He's running out of a time for him to consistently display the talent that he has shown in brief glimpses, but it's now difficult because his minutes are going to be limited.

Him and Koleosho are the first players that come to mind when I think of our agreement with Espanyol. Get them out to play 30+ games at a good level, and either get their confidence up and come back to us as better players or get them in the shop window.

Quite a few Burnley fans on Twitter looking to gain some sort of ‘celebrity’ status, football influencers or whatever you call it. They actually believe their opinion carries weight. Symptom of the modern world.

I thought he looked strong yesrterday especially after half time.

If he scores some goals in the first few games again like he did last time, I wonder if that will change the perception of him?

Strikers gain confidence through scoring goals, sometimes a goal is all it takes for a striker to get going again.

You know who hasn’t played the game at the match when a player has run up and down the wing at pace tracking back and bombing forwards … then a big ‘run you lazy b****d’ …

If you played the game at any level … you know you can’t run forever

No doubt his confidence was low last season, he did cause a few problems at times in the premier league last time.
He made a run in the 2nd half yesterday where the man nearly ripped the shirt off his back then hacked him down or Foster would have left him for dead. He also made some good runs through the middle but had no one making the pass, I think a Tresor in some of those situations would see the ball through to Foster

Almost as embarrassing as the people singing “Kyle Walker , he shags who he wants” on his first appearance in front of the fans .

How stupid can people actually be ?

Cringeworthy and sheer idiocy . This is a player who we definitely want to give his all for us. On his first foray in front of our supporters a select bunch of morons sing about a supposed issue he’s had in his personal life . Well done lads .

As for Koleosho , he set up the goal with a cross yesterday with his weaker foot. Beat 3/4 players with a run coming inside too. He certainly needs nurturing and I think Parker is the man to help him. His pace will be huge for us this season we need to be keeping him here

What do you mean by 'decent standard'? Sounds more than a tad unfair to level that at people having opinions on their team. I was at Huddersfield yesterday and learned nothing new about the players I was familiar with. Is that being fair and reasonable?
Last 20/25 minutes of the game were very refreshing when we saw 'a team' performance from the U 21's, some of whom looked to be very talented.

All reminds me of the first friendly in 2013 at Morecambe. We lost 1-0 and some fans at the end were chanting: “Dyche Out!”

It was the night when one then prominent poster on this board said of trialist Scott Arfield that if a player like Arfield is the level of our ambition then we are heading nowhere.

Just a reminder as to who played that night, looking at who was on the pitch at the end.

Tom Heaton (Alex Cisak ht), Joseph Mills (Alex Coleman 41), Kevin Long (Michael Duff ht), Jason Shackell (Ben Mee ht), Danny Lafferty (Tom Anderson 74), Keith Treacy (Ross Wallace ht), Dean Marney (Steven Hewitt ht), Brian Stock (Junior Stanislas ht), Scott Arfield (Luke Gallagher 74),
Sam Vokes (Jason Gilchrist 74), Danny Ings (George Porter ht). Subs not used: Jack Errington, Archie Love

There are people on my social media feeds who I know personally who are extremely critical but very rarely positive. They’ve never played regular competitive games of football in their lifetimes. Of course they can have their own opinion but the majority are nonsensical, unrealistic and at times entitled.

I still don't understand why playing 'regular games of football in their lifetimes' is a pre-requisite to having an opinion on games or a player. It certainly eliminates a large percentage of those people that support football
I have a relative who in his teens spent some time as an apprentice at Derby County in the early 70's. Often heard him say 'when you've played the game' when discussing football at which point I immediately walk away and take no further part in the discussion.

Opinions are fine, it’s the quotes like the first tweet shown above that are downright ridiculous. I don’t know the bloke from Adam or his footballing pedigree but there are people I do know who make similar comments who simply couldn’t back up their venom to any level with their own ability. I’m very much someone who is reluctant to criticise when I know I couldn’t do any better never mind make ridiculous statements about players that would eat me up and spit me out on a football pitch.

Agree

Players have bad games, they're human not machines.
And fans have a right to point it out, but the vitriol that comes with one poor performance, sometimes a nonexistent poor performance, are so ridiculous I'm amazed they can't see it for themselves.

This is 100% in my opinion down to computer games.

Games such as Football Manager allow youth players to come through pretty easily and be trained up to be good enough for the first team, as they have potential ratings already coded into the game. It makes some people genuinely think it's that easy.

It isn’t, that is something I disagree with completely. I didn’t play the game at any standard other than the school team, but I feel I’ve watched enough football and understand the game enough to comment. However, what I object to is continuously posting my opinion on social media like I am an authority, and analysing the game like a pundit. This is the difference between people on here, who like to debate the game for no self serving reason (as we are, in the main, anonymous, and those on Twitter trying to enhance a ‘profile’ and become ‘famous.’ There are some on Twitter, who I will not name in case they post on here, who really grind my gears.

It’s like people only being allowed to comment on a film or tv drama if you’ve been a writer, actor or director. Only being allowed to comment on art if you’ve been a painter. Only being allowed to comment on food if you’ve been a chef.

After their Portuguese jolly, was Huddersfield a weekend break for the players?
