Second Eleven
The Second Eleven maintained their fantastic run away at Crompton, bringing home the maximum 12 points.
Batting first, they posted an impressive 267 for 6 from their 45 overs. Dec Metcalfe led the way with a sublime century, scoring 105 from 129 balls, ably supported by Shaukat Ali who smashed 76 from 70 deliveries.
In reply, Crompton were dismissed for 121 in just 22.4 overs. Shaukat Ali capped off his all-round performance with figures of 5 for 17 from 5.4 overs, while Jax Edwards claimed 4 for 23 from 4 overs. Crompton collapsed dramatically from 96-1 to 121 all out.
The Second Eleven remain 34 points clear at the top of the league.
First Eleven
It was derby day at home for the First Eleven as they took on Burnley. The visitors won the toss and made 183 for 8, with wickets shared among the bowlers.
In reply, Jonny Whitehead anchored the early stages with 55 before Tom Walker took over as the backbone of the innings. Walker brought up his half-century from 78 balls, supported by Toxy Hussain, Charlie Cottam, and Joey Hawke.
Lowerhouse lost wickets at regular intervals, but calm and composed batting saw them home with 11 balls to spare, sealing a 10-point win. Walker finished unbeaten on 54 from 90 balls in a sensible, match-winning knock—another example of the teamwork that has defined this season.
Lowerhouse are now 42 points clear at the top of the table, with five games to play—and another derby win in the bag.
