Yes, came on at half time at Wolves with Will Hugill coming on later. At Reading in the FA Cup both he and Joe Bauress started,HollandsPies wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 5:52 pmWas this the lad who had an impressive game v Wolves?

The lad needed to go on loan and will hopefully be starting games.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 5:47 pmAnother young player goes out on loan

Whilst our U21 team will suffer the likes of McDermott and Bauress needed to be playing professional football. We'll presumably be seeing the likes of Brierley and Kian McMahon-Brown featuring in the U21s.

Re: ARTICLE: Shrewsbury loan for McDermott
I think we'll be seeing the next batch taking the place of the likes of Bauress, McDermott etc. who all need first team football. It will be a good test or the players stepping up to PL2 and a good measure of the academy too.
We'll have the likes of McCoy, Savage, Brierley and Leuluai stepping in to fill the gaps left by Bauress/McDermott. Pimlott will take the place of Pye. McMahon-Brown will step up to striker with Mellon, Ryan and Bevan likely to go out on loan. Tweedy probably goes out on loan too with Johnson, Masara and Pouani stepping up on the wings.
The younger these players compete in PL2 then they're more likely to get loans at good levels and sooner.

Pimlott played a lot of u21 games last season, probably due to Brad Grant suffering an ACL injury.Mattster wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 7:42 pmI think we'll be seeing the next batch taking the place of the likes of Bauress, McDermott etc. who all need first team football. I’m expecting to see more of McMahon-Brown and Savage at this level although both still qualify for the under-18s.

It is but I remember Michael Duff, when he moved from u18 to u21 coach, taking two players with him who were at the same age. One was Oliver Younger who sadly got a bad injury after moving to Sunderland and Doncaster; the other was Dwight McNeil.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 8:00 pmThats some jump for them, up an age group and at the higher level as well.

Is Vetro still part of the u21s? Does he train with the first team? Seems strange that he was on loan at Dundee but wasn’t in either squads for Huddersfield or Shrewsbury. There were high hopes when we signed him.
