Only caught a few glimpses of the 2nd half. Who was the nippy little right sided forward? A bit more composure and he could have had a couple.

Think the lads might have played that game with the heat in mind. Results are secondary at this level. Having said that we were always in the game. Just seemed to switch off for a few minutes before their first goal and I sensed that Dale, were looking likely scorers.
But the lads picked themselves up, went again, and were good value for the equaliser.
The winner was a text book cross, their attacker got airborne first and our defender couldn't make a strong enough challenge to either win the ball or impede their man, who looked about 6' 5''. He planted the header back across goal, pretty much unstoppable.
All part of the education.
Well played guys.

Some of them. They have to have five who have played in the previous league game. That’s why they started with a player who was substituted after a couple of seconds.

Leeds U21s won it last year. The other finalist in that game, Sutton Utd got beat 7-0 by Fulham U21s.

Ahh that makes more sense! Though kind of makes a mockery of the rules/competition.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 3:38 pmSome of them. They have to have five who have played in the previous league game. That’s why they started with a player who was substituted after a couple of seconds.

It was more in reference to their 2nd goal, if you look at the time of the post!
