Re: TODAYS FOOTY
Chelsea 0 Palace 1 brilliant freekick from Eze
edit: just seen the replay, lots of power but awful from the keeper. VAR doing it's best to rule it out to help the big club

Of course it should be disallowed, the Palace player nearly picked the Chelsea defender up!!!

With the Palace goal - are they making this up as they go along? Seems really harsh to me.

Re: TODAYS FOOTY
Sky comms not listening to the ref. Goal wasn’t disallowed for offside or for Guehis shove. It was for being within a metre of the wall and that was in use last season, so not new.

Right decision. It doesn’t help that the commentary team haven’t got a clue what’s going on.

Re: TODAYS FOOTY
VAR Destroying football one goal at a time!
Wrestling waiting for dead balls into the box - no foul - whereas lean into an opponent goal disallowed.
No surprise that Darren England didn't have the balls to stand up to the Stockley Park pillock.

A metre of the WALL. Sky have just clarified that was the decision and it is correct.

Which is what we need to emulate. Play our most physical players.. We have quite a few tbh now, Cullen plays above his size as well I think, doesn't get bullied.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:34 pmForest must surely be the tallest team in the division ? massive side

Re: TODAYS FOOTY
yep that's why it'll be interesting to see how Leeds do, they've just bought a bunch of big lads. First thing Pep did was sign a bunch of big lads at City, this league is about power.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:43 pmWhich is what we need to emulate. Play our most physical players.. Re: TODAYS FOOTY
I don't get that. I'd understand a retake, but why disallow a goal? The comms are now saying it's because the Palace defender was within a metre of the wall.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:27 pmA metre of the WALL. Sky have just clarified that was the decision and it is correct.

Come on Forest, you can get us up to 17th.
Hopefully Arsenal can get us to 16th. WHAT?

Chris Wood what a super Premier league striker scores goal in that league for fun,oh how I wish we had him in this current team.

Brentford, Wolves and West Ham are the teams the promoted clubs have to target, in order of likelihood. IMHO.

Slagged off to high heaven on here though. We've not had a striker at his level in this league before or after.

Re: TODAYS FOOTY
Love Cullen and feel he can make it with the right players around him like Leslie but against top ten midfielders feel he does need to release the ball quicker to avoid being dispossessed.

Re: TODAYS FOOTY
Why?
I’m a Burnley fan, not a Nottingham Forest or Chris Wood fan. He was superb for us, but he wanted out as was his prerogative.
I actually quite enjoyed watching Forest implode a bit towards the back end of last season, because their chairman is an utter ****.

Re: TODAYS FOOTY
I have a feeling that Brentford will have strengthened significantly before the window closes. Quattara, their recent £42.5m acquisition signed too late to make his debut for Brentford today.GrahamBranchsPerm wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:56 pmBrentford, Wolves and West Ham are the teams the promoted clubs have to target, in order of likelihood. Re: TODAYS FOOTY
Yep, bullied. Doesn't win the first challenge well enough, is beaten to the second ball and then doesn't get close enough to Kudus. Bullied by a bigger, stronger, quicker player.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 3:07 pmHe wasn't bullied for the first at all; he was beaten around the outside by a rapid winger.
Re: TODAYS FOOTY
I've just realised that Wissa isn't in the Brentford team. If he goes as well they really are going to struggle. They will have lost 3 of their top 4 goal scorers from last season.

At this point we haven't played anybody in the bottom 10 to establish that so it's impossible to say. You could actually say based on last season we have yesterday & look how that went. The people completely crediting tottenhams uplift solely on the managerial change is very premature.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 3:14 pmWe can compete against teams in the bottom 10 - we just need to find the right formula.

I'd bank on my last pound Spurs will be top half this time, not to mention, getting 14 shots off away at Spurs is certainly competing. We had chances. It was far from an absolute route.
