O/T Sigur Rós

Post by ecc » Mon Aug 18, 2025 6:08 pm

I appreciate they won't be everybody's think but Sigur Rós are one of the bands/artists that IMHO brought something new to music. They were truly innovative and achieved the virtually impossible: being successful in English-speaking countries despite not singing in the language of those countries.

This is a superb live version of "Glosoli". So powerful, so moving.

One of my all time favourite bands. I've seen them live 3 times and they were incredible each time. Love that version of Glosoli.

Saw them live at Benicassim almost 20 years ago and they blew my mind. Incredible band. Another similar artist I would recommend is Olafur Arnalds - equally beautiful music.

Class Act in every sense of the term, playing The Royal Albert Hall in October.

Saw them headline Latitude Festival a good few years ago and they were absolutely stunning. A brilliant brilliant band and so good live!

My wife walked down the aisle to Hoppípolla. Beautiful song.

Sigur Ros do not fit my normal listening habits but they are really good.

I was in the lakes a couple of weeks ago running up Great Clava, not a soul in sight and listening to Sigur Ros. Sometime music enhances the views

Musically, Sigur Ros won't be everyone's cup of tea. But please do have a look at the video; it's a bit special.

The Icelandic title translates as "Sleepwalking Angels".

A band definitely worth seeing live. I caught them at the SECC in Glasgow a few years ago. It was pretty special.

There are quite a few Scandi Art rock bands who are worth listening to..Sigur Ros is one - another one is Gazpacho who are more on the Prog side.

Very good stuff thanks for sharing
