Helmond - worth a visit?

Post by pistol » Fri Aug 22, 2025 5:32 pm

All

As part of the upcoming international break
In September we are going to Serbia via Eindhoven

Obviously, Helmond is very close
And given the close links between our two clubs
I just wondered if it was worth a visit?

If anyone who has been recommends it
And anywhere in particular we should visit

Cheers

it's a great trip but not loads to see in Helmond itself. We ended up very merry with the locals... I have a few mates from over that way anyway from the trips back and forward over the years.

If you're in Eindhoven I'd recommend grabbing lunch at the ground as they have a little restaurant which is in the executive seating and open to the public. Gives a great trip to the ground without having to pay extra to go into the ground.

Easily walkable from the train station in Eindhoven

Just don't tell the Helmond lot you went there

Pic of the view/lunch we had there.

We'll worth the visit and a great spot for a quick pint too.

Agree with the above. Plenty to do in Eindhoven but not much going on in Helmond, although I did enjoy having a look round.

If you do go to Helmond, try your luck with the stadium. They left the side gate open when I visited, so I had a walk round it and got some good pictures in the stands and at the edge of the pitch.

If you're over in Helmond and it isn't a match day then drop a message on here and I'll do my best to make sure you get to have a look around the ground mate.

Feel like i spotted that too late fly into Eindhoven early sunday morning after the Andorra game at villa park, if i’d have been switched on we’d definitely have taken that game in!

I went in 2019 for their last game of the season. It coincided with the Dutch remembrance day. Brilliant trip, made very welcome by the locals who met us at the ground with flares.
A very nice town but probably not much to do if a match isnt on. Could probably do a ground tour and have a wander round.
I need to go back, it was an amazing trip
