Yes this is where I normally exit it’s quite crowded at the best of times after a match god knows what it will be like Saturday total farce from the club
Truly is a farce mate. The safety of the fans seems irrelevant. It’s all about pushing folk to pay 6 quid for a flat pint in a plastic cup In the fanzone

Wether the move is correct or not, do you not think a safety certificate is in place?

Is it? Perhaps you should stop then.
I'd need to have a full day on the pop, before I'd post the one I was replying to.....and if I did, which I have, I'd expect a similar response

Knowing the club for a long time…no.

In the last Clarets Trust AGM that i attended, someone with experience suggested that the exit by the club shop just about was deemed sufficient for the volume of people exiting.

I don't know if it's been mentioned on this thread, but last year I went on a Turf Moor tour and the tour guide (and former chairman of Burnley Football Supporter's Club) said that the reason they swapped home and away fans originally was because the then manager (can't remember which one) didn't like the noise of the away fans over the home dressing room. I wonder of that was considered?

Quite a few have complained about it. Cotterill certainly did.
As did Coyle, we managed to get the home fans back in there under him.
We then had to move back out but Dyche wanted home fans in there again. We were let back in for the last two games of his first Premier League season.

I’m just going to walk down past the cricket club as I have been doing for years, if I get stopped I’ll just say that I support <insert away team here> and see what happens!

I suspect that they’ll ask to see a match ticket and then turn you around. However, I also suspect that the TV truck compound will now be extended right up to the wall blocking any advancement, but easily removed if an emergency exit is required.

If I were you I’d just suck up the longer walk.

Will see how things go. If it’s ropey it only take two minutes to email LCC, confirm concern and request confirmation of plans submitted by BFC and how it supports fan safety.

Yeah but, I might be carrying a baseball bat,or even better a gun….. they’ll let me through then eh…. Eh!

The thing is, and I’m being serious here, when I walk down that path, every single time I imagine that I’m accompanied with my brother and Dad who are no longer with us, but that was how we got to the Turf in the 1960’s and ever time since. as weird as it sounds it’s an important part of the match day experience for me.

I’d never walked down there until we went back into the CFS, what a decade ago?

When I had a season ticket in there in the 90’s I think we went through off Brunshaw Rd (though I could be forgetful there). I thought the away fans used that route from the late 70’s through to the stands being built?

Am I wrong there?

Jos that is exactly me except for the date - 1950's for me, 1/3d entrance cost as I remember it. My dad and brother are long gone but I know what they'd think about this.

Hi CW, You may be right, I was living many miles away during the late 70's, so couldn't get to the turf then.

Why were Sunderland not allowed to completely fill the away end?
