There's so much to like about Hannibal, but all of the things I like are about pressing, winning the ball back and transitioning into attack. Hope to God he bags after this post but, I just can't get on board with him as one of our main attacking threats.

Just read CT’s report on the referee and seen that he comes from my neck of the woods, Penwortham in Preston.FFS!

Whichever team is in possession is having it far to easy. They are getting far nearer to our goal before giving it away, we have been very wasteful. JBL is not being used at all, everything from us the object is to get it to Anthony.

Don’t know. He’s a co-commentator so probably an ex pro.

Sunderland qyite happy lto let us hae possession until we get to their half, they then sink back further. Clearly looking to play on the break. I wonder if they fance their chances in a race with our back line?

That's because our main tactic seems to be booting it up front for the forwards.
And it's mainly dropping for the defenders.

Ref ruled it out in first place,50/50 challenge which could have gone either way.
VAR just backed up on-field decision.

These are the kind of games we need a Tresor/Edwards.

We need players that can work in tight spaces in the final third

Pretty tense game and we’re struggling to break behind. Maybe bring Edwards on for JBL at half time?

Didn't realise, against Spurs at least I thought Parker said it was just selection reasons. Plus it was reported we're looking to offload him. I'd love to see him on the bench but doesn't seem likely

Yep. A passenger so far. We can't affort that.

Can he show some quality in the 1st 10 of the 2nd half? if not, I'd hook him off.

I would be tempted to bring on both Edwards and Tchouna second half.

Both of the wide players have looked really average

Xhaka missing his usual quailty with that tame effort.

We do appear to drop very deep into our area gifting shooting opportunities on the edge of the area.

Xhaka giving a masterclass as the set up man in midfield. Don’t think he’s broke sweat yet but all his passes have intent to get them on the front foot. Sadly Cullen has chosen today to have one of his off days.

I wasn't that impressed with his signing for the money they spent but he still looks a quiality player. Opens play and times his movement wonderfully. A cut above Cullen, to be fair.

We're definitely lacking in the final part. I'd love to see Edwards on, but that would probably mean changing to a back 4.

That Ugo looks impressive. Don't think he lost or gave the ball away once that half. Hannibal working his socks off, as is Foster. Just lacking that cutting edge.

Also not sure if we can read anything into it but Edwards isn't on the pitch with the subs at HT.- scrap that he is there now.

Not a bad half, a draw probably about right so far given the chances. Similar to parts of last season, we look a little short of ideas in the final third. The trio of Anthony, Hannibal, JBL have to do better when we get to that area of the pitch. All 3 work hard and perhaps give us a little bit more without the ball than with it. Edwards and maybe Tchaouna will be needed to shift that balance 2nd half. More risky, but you have to try and get 3 points at home to Sunderland
