Don't think you have to look much further than giving
Wilder the bullet.

And they're bottom of the Championship with
three defeats.

Re: Sheff Utd
Appointed a bang average hull manager
Re: Sheff Utd
I’m not a fan of Wilder, but the decision to sack him was astounding!

Re: Sheff Utd
It’s August and they’ve already lost more league games than we did during the whole of last season.

I couldn't understand why they appointed Selles in the first place. He's a nothing Manager. If they want to be in the top 6 next May they need to bite the bullet and sack him now!!!

Re: Sheff Utd
If Wilder had just played down that Plymouth defeat, shrugged his shoulders and said that’s the championship and we go again next game, they might well be in the PL and have condemned us to the playoffs. His phil brown moment precipitated their downfall. Sliding doors moment. I think they were right to bin him. Selles was a poor appointment though.

Re: Sheff Utd
Its not as if there were'nt a few good managers available-Edwards, O Neill, the ex Boro manager, Dyche, to name a few
Re: Sheff Utd
It’s probably the perfect job for Dyche to be fair. Good sized club with players which suit his style
Re: Sheff Utd
Danny Ings and Nathan Redmond having a trial after Ben Mee tried last week.

Re: Sheff Utd
Wilder would have them top 10, absolute worse scenario by now. How many times have clubs sacked a manager and then dropped down the table and divisions.

Re: Sheff Utd
It's not inconceivable that they could go down. The last time they went down to League 1, they lost in the Championship playoff final the season before.
Re: Sheff Utd
Mee will take the offer. His time in the prem is done

Danny Ings signed on with Sheff Utd.
Re: Sheff Utd
I heard that they decided that they couldn't afford to be a yoyo club (well that might well be true after they didn't yo last season. Hence they decided that they were safer becoming a championship equivalent of Brighton and Brentford, aiming to buy young talent, develop and then sell for profit.
The new owners have pressed for this. Given their inability to pick a striker that isn't a dog, I can't see it working.

If you want to be a successful yo yo club you definitely have to remember to yo the year after you yotimshorts wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:19 pmI heard that they decided that they couldn't afford to be a yoyo club (well that might well be true after they didn't yo last season.
