I don't think the games are in order, just who they are playing

The dates and game order will be announced on Saturday.
Liverpool fans must be pleased to have a chance to apologise to Trent seeing as they don't mind Isak doing the exact same thing, probably even worse, to Newcastle.

Think the new format is a bit of a farce really. Liverpools reward for the winning the league phase was drawing PSG. May as well have rested players the last few games. Also how many times have City played Real in recent years? Used to look forward to the big boys playing each other but just happens way too regularly now.

Easy with hindsight regarding PSG, but they were useless through the group phase and their position showed it. Liverpool were clear favourites and PSG had never won the trophy. I think this format is much better, almost a bit like a rando cup draw as big clubs can have more chance of meeting each other early in the KO stages. Agree with the big games being played more regularly eventually becomes more boring but there are plenty of other fascinating ties around that can be watched. Barcelona going to Newcastle will be a great watch. More games and more variety overall rather than just repeating the same 3 games in the previous group phase format.jrgbfc wrote: ↑Fri Aug 29, 2025 8:22 amThink the new format is a bit of a farce really. All the big teams seem to play each other early on as well, which means there’s more pressure on them to beat the smaller ones later on
I personally like the new format

Good to see Forest and Palace get some decent away trips. Their fans will be absolutely buzzing for it. Forest got Betis, Braga, Feynoord and Utretcht.
