I hate that the wingers are included as forwards not midfielders these days.

Also, Madueke, Bowen and Rashford should not be near an England squad. I'd have Grealish over all 3, he's the one suited to international football.

Quite telling that as soon as he starts playing for a smaller club, he is instantly dropped

To be fair. I'd be surprised if he's ever picked again after his recent England performances.

If Kane gets injured there is a massive drop off in quality in the rest of the forward line.

The fact that he is playing for a smaller club is a pretty good indication that his levels have dropped. Just like his recent performances for England.

I really don't get this chip on shoulder attitude. We've had a few internationals in recent years. It's pretty clear that any manager will pick the players he thinks are the best fit for his team, or those he wants to take a closer look at, regardless of which club they play for.

That’s a really poor squad compared to most recent ones.

Looks like a squad full of question marks to me and TT wants to see a few players up close a bit more. Being in such an easy qualifying group then I guess he can.

For me the credibility of Tuchel is instantly damaged when he picks Henderson and Rashford. Got to say I really dislike watching England play, but watching the Lioness's play recently impressed me. Their passing, tracking back and enthusiasm were outstanding. The men can learn from them, and interestingly in the 3 games I watched did not see them caught for off-side once

Just what is the point in selecting Henderson? He’s gonna be nowhere near the starting X1 in the World Cup Finals, staged in 3 hot countries. Just baffling.

Considering Tuchel continues to select Henderson, for whatever reason that tells me he sees Henderson as an essential part of the system he wants to play. Tuchel’s a winner, his remit is to win World Cup, maybe we should trust his judgement?

Had Walker not signed for us, there would be no clamour for him to be in the squad, so no arguments from me. If he puts in some quality performances between now and the next selection time, maybe that will change, but for now, fair do’s.

I’ve seen nothing of Henderson so can’t really comment, but it does seem a bit of an odd one. I’d hope that he isn’t seen an essential part of Tuchel’s plans for next summer!

Watkins is very good to be fair, but beyond that we are short of options…….

Longer term, someone like Delap might be an option, but the here and now suggests we are short of strikers.

The heat will ultimately kill us along with just about every other nation that is not used to playing in these conditions. Exercising in extreme heat is absolutely brutal and it can’t be replicated with a two week camp prior to a tournament.

Therefore, my money will be on a South American team or Spain walking away with the gold from this World Cup.

The World Cup winning team will not have a player in it that plays for Brentford.

Henderson offers great leadership, an experienced head and he can still be useful in the pitch. I don't see the problem.
He was apparently excellent for Brentford last week.

Shows you how much out of touch i am....I have never even heard of 8 of the players in this squad! 🤣

Of the ones ive heard of the names of Henderson and Rashford surprise me.

What also is interesting (in neither a good or bad way but just an observation) is the number of non-traditional anglo-saxon surnames.....Eze, Livramento, Guehi, Konsa, Madueke .... and not forgetting Reece James...bloody Welsh 🤣

Yes, and he is past his very best, whilst still being a very good player.
He won't feature in future international competitions so no point in his selection.

Winning the thing in the first place might be a small consideration.

Said this when Tuchel was appointed, his contract runs out after the World Cup.

He’s not there to bring through a generation of English talent, he’s there to win a trophy. Specifically, the next trophy. And it’ll be his chosen horses-for-courses up until he’s either a) won that trophy or b) failed.

You have to think does the England manager have any input into squad selection at this point.
We select absolute dross like Jordan Henderson no matter who is in charge.
Its no wonder we constantly fail despite having a group capable of challenging

Beyond horrible. Appointing Tuchel as England manager is bizarre. He is German. This will not work out!
