Absolutely ridiculous decision. That Maranakis is a real piece of work.

Re: Nuno
That could well see the dismantling of the rise and rise of Forest. It is appointment that I would expect to be short and not very sweet. Can you imagine any scenario where those egos will not clash? I’d be extremely worried if I was a Forest fan.

Re: Nuno
A few weeks or so ago they were being heavily linked with Postecoglou. Marinakis wants attacking football - that's not Jose

Re: Nuno
It is a club Sean Dyche would love to manage - having experienced the current owner of the club as an opposition manager would he want to work for him? Not that it is likely they would come in for him.

Re: Nuno
Confirmed.
Nottingham Forest Football Club confirms that, following recent circumstances, Nuno Espírito Santo has today been relieved of his duties as Head Coach.
The Club thanks Nuno for his contribution during a very successful era at The City Ground, in particular his role in the 2024/25 season, which will forever be remembered fondly in the history of the Club.
As someone who played a pivotal role in our success last season, he will always hold a special place in our journey.

Re: Nuno
New appointment to be made imminently with Ange Postecoglou a front runner.
Re: Nuno
Hope Nuno gets a job quickly before Leeds, Brentford, West Ham, Wolves (not sure if he goes back there) etc pot their managers or they leave. As you imagine one of those would replace their manager if / when they are near the bottom. In fact considering the money they have spent even Sunderland.

One thing Nuno did brilliantly was find a system that gets the best out of Wood.claretburns wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 6:34 amNew appointment to be made imminently with Ange Postecoglou a front runner.
I might be wrong but I can’t see that happening under Postecoglou.

Nuno is best out of the potential shitstorm of a season that’s coming.

Sacking success? The outcome is nearly always failure.

Didn’t they sack the successful Cooper last time? I recall a lot of outrage at that. Turned out ok.Clovius Boofus wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 8:05 amSacking success? The outcome is nearly always failure.

Re: Nuno
I can actually see this sacking working in our favour. No matter who comes in they’ve got to negotiate a minimum of 8 European games, Nuno’s squad, who probably aren’t to happy with the sacking and a lunatic of a chairman.
Recipe for relegation (maybe).

Re: Nuno
Ange currently around 2/5.
The owner comes across as a patient man so I’m sure he will be quite happy to wait for Ange’s second season in charge before expecting to win anything.

Re: Nuno
With any luck it’ll be the Championship he’s winning in his second season. Taken a real dislike to Forest!kentonclaret wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 8:46 amAnge currently around 2/5.

Re: Nuno
They’ll most likely lose to Arsenal on Saturday, then they do have a Wednesday night 8pm kick off in Swansea, before coming here on Saturday. Will obv rotate the team, but not a great deal of time for Ange to work on the training pitch that week, which could work in our favour.

Re: Nuno
I think this can only be a good thing for us as we play them soon.
Complete change in approach and playing style and loss of a popular manager should create a lot of uncertainty.
We’ll still be underdogs - but a fast start from us could really put the pressure on them.

Not that I think for one minute we should get rid of Parker, but I would love NES to manage us.

Re: Nuno
He pretty much engineered his own exit with what he said days ago criticising marinakis the fate was sealed then. He'll no doubt be paid up & he's still well regarded as a decent manager so could walk into lot's of forthcoming vacancies. I sense that deep down that time marankis walked onto the pitch scolding nuno things wouldn't be the same there after & so it proved.

Re: Nuno
I just get tge impression that by a bit of skill and a lot of luck, Nuno achieves some success early on. Then he manages to set impossible tasks for his chairman - Wolves too - and rightly gets sacked...and paid off. Adds success to growing CV and repeat.

Re: Nuno
Ditto Ange, who achieved 26 points from his first 10 PL matches as Tottenham manager, winning PL manager of the month in August/September/October, only for things to take a turn for the worse form wise from there on in.
