Yeah i know this obviously, but if you aren't setup for life already after bring paid handsomely for many years then he's done something wrong. Just seems a shame he's wasting his prime years for a quick cash grab, but everyones built different I guess. He's certainly not going there for the experience is he?
I have no issues with him going for the money which lets face it is mouth-watering - it's the BS he comes out with justifying it. Just tell us its for the money and not to "further your footballing career"

Anyone saying they wouldn’t take that deal in his circumstances are deluded.

The man stands to make crazy money for two years then come back and have 2/3 years in the Champ seeing his career out. Maybe he wants something that’s not a relegation battle or going back to the well for a promotion push again for a while.

Good luck to him, we’d all do the same.

If he's single again, he's going to have to go across the bridge to Bahrain for a spot of sport.

No I’m just realistic enough to see that athletes with a 10-15 year career shelf life will maximise their earnings to the best of their ability.

He was rejected by a number of clubs as a kid, Burnley included. So fair play to him for going to get the payday.

I wouldn't worry about Fatboy. He's been popping up all summer to have a do at anything and everything related to Josh Brownhill. Never misses an opportunity to get himself involved.

Hopefully he'll draw it in a bit once they're on different continents.

Good luck Josh. Whatever most think and say, most of us would do the same with such an opportunity at your age.

Fair play to him for finding what’s likely to be a huge contract. Many of us would do the same.

Hopefully he doesn’t come to regret it when he’s playing in front of a couple of thousand fans at Al-Shabab’s largely empty stadium.

This sort of makes sense for him he isn’t likely to progress more I guess he is now typecasted as a top end championship lower end prem player maybe he was just sick of that and just wanted a fresh start with the money to boot.it comes down to what your motivation is professional pride, love of Football, money etc, I guess a lot of his is money, a lot of us are also driven by money so there is no shame in that. Good luck to him I say

No they wouldn't. You obviously would but to say those that wouldn't are therefore deluded is incredibly narrow minded.

The premise of what you're saying is that regardless of how rich you already are (and unless JB is incredibly stupid he's already extremely rich) to turn down even more riches, irrespective of how those riches are earned would be deluded. No other factors come into play. Its just more money = acceptance...no discussion.

Brownhill makes his debut today for the mighty Al Shabab, wearing his familiar number 8 shirt. Currently 0 - 0 after 20 minutes. Bit toasty in Riyadh, 37 degrees C :o

No. I subscribe to DAZN, they do broadcast select Saudi Pro League games, unfortunately this isn't one of them. :(

You can only spend a certain amount and I would think he's very comfortably off. I would rather play in the Premier League than out there in a League that nobody cares about.

Ka-ching!
Got to be better than slumming it on 40K per week at Burnley. Enjoy Dosh.

I thought he had offers from other premiership clubs, if that’s correct I would imagine he'd have been offered a lot more than the purported £40k we had offered but obviously no where near the amount he’s currently earning. I think he’ll realise the standard of football out in Saudi is disappointing but the rewards make up for it. It’ll be interesting to see if he returns quicker than expected.

He did a video the other day night saying the atmosphere in the stadiums is amazing :D .

He’s a sell out like JBG.

It’s a lot of money though if that’s all they want.

It was JBGs last chance at making a lot of money. Josh will still be young enough to come back and play in England, if he wants to.

Fair play to him.

Can't imagine many people here would turn down the opportunity to double their salary with a huge sign up bonus, that would provide financial stability to their family for generations
