I’m still none the wiser as to who the target market actually is.
I don’t think Jaguar actually know who the target market is although they mentioned previously that they were after some of Bentley’s customers. I think they might struggle to achieve that going off their prototype.

No wonder the CEO walked.

If you’re thinking of the same company that I am, they account for a smaller percentage of their manufacturing. Or at least they did when I worked for them. Not saying they still aren’t reliant though.
If I’m thinking the same company they have a whole unit dedicated to JLR and is a large percentage of their output I believe several job losses have already taken place at very short notice

There’s an overflow car park on Lomeshaye in Nelson specifically for repair/warranty repair of LR’s…. It’s well away from the main dealers, obviously. It’s jam packed to the rafters.

I owned a freelander 2 (yeah, not a “real” landrover for the brand snobs) but by far the best car landrover have made in the last 20 years…

Is that the one where the workshop is?

No issues with our Defender 110 so far. Feared it would be thirsty than it is too. Guess it will not be cheap if/when something goes wrong.

Although it was as not bought from Lomeshaye, whenever we have asked them a question the stafff have been excellent.

Unsure if there’s a workshop there. Far too many registered vehicles imho. Seeing that amount just sat there waiting is enough to put me off…

Down by L.E.D. ? If so yes, it's where the workshop is and I agree that there are far too many vehicles sat waiting to be looked at. Unfortunately I had to go there several times with one of our cars

Yes, that’s the place. It’s bloody rammed with vehicles. Hardly a glowing reference….

Because of the shutdown caused by criminals completing a cyber attack on JLR? I hope these evil animals are being hunted down....

If you can't trust your many robot stations to perform their tasks perfectly and repeatedly, or your production track computers to remember which version of a car is currently being worked on at each station and which version will be next up then you have to shut down the track. JLR workers at the main plant here in Solihull have been told it will be at least the 2nd half of October before the next car is produced. Many of those workers are being used in rectification work on the, up to,15% of cars that have a failed check when they reach the end of the line. That was the percentage when I retired from rectification in 2018, anyway.

At that time they ensured that every Landrover leaving the factory site had passed ALL vehicle checks or were sent somewhere, it used to be Kenilworth, for more intensive rectification work(s).

Please can you explain what you mean with the first line. What does it have to do with a data breach?

I disagree from a personal perspective. I had two Jag XFs one after the other both fitted with 3.0 litre V6s. The 2nd was the "S" model with a twin turbo. Both were only serviced by JLR dealerships and both never gave me any issues whatsoever. Lovely cars. Comfortable, fast with sublime handling. I went to buy another one but they don't make them anymore :(
Thing is with those type of engines, as long as looked after they 'should' be relatively bullet proof (although I killed a golf v6 in my young years but had a few Audi v6s which were excellent). Like most brands, many of the lesser engined ones can be a bit cheap and more prone to breaking, not just the engines but everything else.

I don't know a great deal about Jags but always saw them as an older bloke's premium marque, so I never understood the watering down of the brand

As for LR...again never had one but the reputation alone would put me off ever doing in the future
