Just read that shocked.

I'd presumed he'd left to take the Leicester job, and now feel even worse for it. Thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Speculation is that he’s taken his own life. We placed him on gardening leave which prevented him from taking another job (presumably the Leicester one.)
Very sad, RIP.

Poor man must have been in a bad headspace when he resigned, whatever the reason.

From a post that I’ve seen that appears to be from his son, it doesn’t seem to be speculation

Very sad indeed

Only responding here because I’m not sure that’s true. My understanding is that we refused him permission to speak to Leicester, as is our right, then he resigned and so we put him on gardening leave as is pretty standard practice for anyone in such a senior leadership role.

Leicester sacked their manager around the same time, put in place an interim, and presumably he was due to take over from the interim at the end of his notice period.

Either way, incredibly sad news to wake up to and huge condolences to his family.

Let’s not speculate about how/why he died.

For now it’s sufficient to acknowledge how very sad this is.

I was just going to post something very similar. Whatever has happened, he’s lost his life and left a wife and three children behind. It is unbelievably sad.

From a post by his son it seems it was a suicide. Very very sad.
