Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
So they are planning on adding a garage behind the JM stand, reducing the space for 2/3rds of the crowd to exit?
Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
You need to be a special kind of special for whinging about a garage after looking through those plans.

Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
Look at any modern, successful, club and LEDs feature heavily outside and in. Information, advertising (bringing in cash) and looks better than a sign that would become weather beaten in no time at all.
I’d imagine most of us on here are of a certain generation or two and stuck in our ways. It’s a modern necessity, like it or not.

Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
I’m not whinging about the garage
I’ve only glanced at the images but it seems that they are creating a space to park the team coaches behind the stand, that is already tight for space following the recent adjustments for the fans “Matchday experience”
If I’m wrong then fair enough, I’ll apologise

Change happens, and as Burnley is a business if we want to compete in all aspects of business we need to move with the times.
I know some of you are happy with sitting in your tin baths in front of the fireplace and then having boiled potatoes and corned beef for tea but it’s 2025.

One thing's been confirmed over the last few months anyway; a lot of those in the JHU have got a God complex.

Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
I am not necessarily moaning about them, but feels like polishing the proverbial.
Lovely LED gantry but overhanging a prefab garage (granted the club won't own it)
Stands crumbling
Service, matchday food and customer care generally poor
Ticketing systems that don't work
Roofs that have never offered any rain cover.....
Just feels a bit weird that these kind of things being done when the foundations and basics seemd to be ignored, at the detriment of fans.

Having sat in the Bob Lord for the first time in years last night and been reminded how crap it is, it surely can’t be long before we see some plans to replace it.

The potential for the all new player's super entrance. Great for the kids to be a part of and to take home some awesome memories. Imagine all this going off to thumping beats and cheering fans

Not sure it screams ‘moving with the times’ when the graphics look like they’ve been done by a GCSE student on photoshop 98!ClaretAndJew wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 10:02 amChange happens, and as Burnley is a business if we want to compete in all aspects of business we need to move with the times.

It's a hell of a time to be an LED display manufacturer.

It’s all a cunning plan… sell more seats knowing a quarter of the crowd will suffer epileptic fits and another quarter migraines before even reaching their seats…

Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
I'm fine with all this, everyone loves an LED display. It's going to make zero difference to my 'matchday experience' but it won't detract from it.
I do kind of like how we're sticking so many shiny things on top of our fairly knackered old stadium. While it's true you can't polish a turd, you can certainly roll it in light emitting diodes.

Ignoring the fireworks going off into the fans, those flames on the roof would be too close to the inflatables. I think you'd have another Phoenix Nights Funday incident if this was carried out

I'm hoping they can learn a lot from the Espanyol stadium and their fans - a good team will always make the difference but the place is rocking

Maybe they could do a roof job to get rid of the pillars in the Bob Lord and put plastic seats in ?

I thought that he came off the bench towards the end of the game
Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
I suppose one of the benefits of any sort of "improvements" to the Bob Lord is that they could make the seats narrow, less comfortable, and more plasticky than they are now. Why people want to replace the best seats in the league, I have no idea - perhaps I'm at the time of life when I prefer a comfortable seat to a fashionable one?The Shire Claret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 3:41 pmMaybe they could do a roof job to get rid of the pillars in the Bob Lord and put plastic seats in ?
They wouldn't be able to make it rain in like it does on the other side because the wind is in the wrong direction.

Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
I think the LED lights look great on a night game. Or at least, they make Turf Moor look a lot better than it otherwise would.
Like the “Up the Clarets!” sign in this too.
Only disappointing thing is the lack of plan for the big work that’s needed - replacement of the CFS and Bob Lord - and you can only imagine that the more we spend on LED’s, the further away that is.

I think those supporters who prefer narrow plastic seats to the wider wooden ones tend to shop at IKEA so their views should be instantly dis-regarded.dsr wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 4:07 pmI suppose one of the benefits of any sort of "improvements" to the Bob Lord is that they could make the seats narrow, less comfortable, and more plasticky than they are now. Re: more planned alterations at Turf Moor
So the public consultation period on the proposed alterations expires on the 8th October but I’m sure people will have noticed the new wall and relocated turnstiles going in at the old away fans entrance well before any consent is granted. What do you think are the chances of the council planning enforcement officers telling the club to stop work as they would be pretty quick to do if you try and build a house extension before you have permission
