I reached out to Burnley Police on X a few weeks ago about the safety of the changes. They stated that BFC were aware of the issues it has caused and were working on plans to improve the crowding.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 10:48 pmJust downright ridiculous what this club are putting us through for no obvious reason

I park and walk from the far end of town, on a Saturday match. The extra walk around 3/4 of the ground is a killer.
My personal match day experience is much poorer, Or Pace.
Next they will fill the apacecwhich gives a view if the Cricket ground. That will effectively end the visible link between the 2 clubs. That would be sacrilege.

Ey. I’m only 42!blatherwickstattoos wrote: ↑Sun Sep 21, 2025 6:54 pmCricket field stand walkway to enter and exit the stand is far far narrower. People congregating towards the end of the match stood still blocking the exit. Saw a few people struggling to move past. Atmosphere in there much better though with it being compact. Bob lord even got a song going yesterday which was very pleasing. Well done old chaps and ladies

Re: Access for home fans
If they keep the away team buses there at end of games, I think they are basically saying we don't give a xxxx about the vast majority of fans. Is it so important to save PL players a short walk in the rain?Barlickclaret wrote: ↑Sun Sep 21, 2025 7:25 pmMaybe you can ask the question at the meetings you go to.
Re: Access for home fans
Having watched the un-cut video after the Forest game one thing that stood out was that all this hype about being part of the “Match day experience” by allowing the children to see the players arrive on the coach etc was that they step off the coach and quickly head into the ground, I didn’t see any interaction with children/ fans. Sorry to repeat the question Mr Pace but what exactly have the club gained with all these changes apart from a good number of disgruntled long standing home fans.

I watched it from the fire exit of the Fanzone, thankful I hadn't stood in the rain.

Also I think the disgruntled fans are in the minority, it's not affected the majority in the slightest and are happy to try new things
Re: Access for home fans
My kids have been going to the player arrivals and enjoying it, they want to keep going.
If you try getting there a little earlier why not speak to Pace, he's always around to answer questions. I asked him about bringing back ponchos on the lower tiers when the weather was like it was Saturday, and he said he was all for it and would try and get it sorted
Re: Access for home fans
What's the Burnley ISA doing about these complaints, it's over a month now. Have they engaged with the club or Pace about this?
He's pretty easy to get opportunity to speak to, so would have expected they have by now

I wouldn't have thought it was so easy to get a meeting with either Alan Pace or any senior management.
The way the club never seem to answer a simple email, I sent 3 regarding this matter and had no replies.
Re: Access for home fans
I’m presuming the manual operation of the traffic lights at Lyndhurst Road/Aldi is a new thing? We’ve had to wait until the away coaches have gone through twice now.
It’s a shame they haven’t thought to manually operate the Cliviger lights further up the road where there’s always been a long queue.

I sometimes walk along there after a game, although haven't this season. They've always previously been without any manual operation.RMutt wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 9:51 amI’m presuming the manual operation of the traffic lights at Lyndhurst Road/Aldi is a new thing? Re: Access for home fans
We now get dropped off at Holcombe drive and walk through the memorial garden .that's when the stewards at the fire station let you through.
It struck me that they could build a lockable gate where the wall meets the catch fencing of the memorial garden this would bring fans out near the fan zone and also help relieve congestion after the game and fans would have easier access to the cricket club facilities by walking down to belvedere rd through the estate.
Leaving the game after the forest game , the amount of umbrellas that were poking other fans and the arguments that were starting made me think this is worse than rival fans coming together.
It must also be quite daunting for the children in the crowd in a sea of legs. Disaster waiting to happen.
Contacted club and got the safety has been considered and crowds monitored blah blah blah.
After the pinch point you also have bob lord and cricket field fans walking towards the park view plus away fans mingling. Not really enhancing match day experience.

Re: Access for home fans
The problem is that the decision makers don’t actually have to participate in any of the inconvenience, they should have experienced with us last weekend leaving the ground when it was absolutely pi- - ing it down, their lovely suede shoes would have enjoyed the mud together with large puddles mixed with the wet grass and dog s-hit having left by way of exiting up the side of the memorial garden onto Holcombe drive. It’s so refreshing to have such considerate individuals running our club, no doubt they’d retire to the Boardroom after the game for drinks whilst discussing how well The Match Day experience had gone today for our supporters. Don’t you just love em.

The only thing I will disagree with there is the after match drinks. Our owners don’t drink.beddie wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 7:37 pmThe problem is that the decision makers don’t actually have to participate in any of the inconvenience, they should have experienced with us last weekend leaving the ground when it was absolutely pi- - ing it down, their lovely suede shoes would have enjoyed the mud together with large puddles mixed with the wet grass and dog s-hit having left by way of exiting up the side of the memorial garden onto Holcombe drive. Re: Access for home fans
Good plan. The club could make available for sale multi use club branded ponchos or dirt cheap single use ponchos. Another income stream

Whether he is or not, it doesn't alter the reasonableness of him raising concerns on here.

Yes, as I thought. It used to be a reasonable get away from Lyndhurst Road but it’s a bit of a frustrating wait now with the lights being turned to red for quite a long while before the coaches actually come through.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 11:26 amI sometimes walk along there after a game, although haven't this season. I'm not sure repeating the same concerns on this thread serves any purpose now. That is not to say I don't think some need addressing by the club.
Anyone would think those running the club are a dictatorship. They are not, despite the jilted bride approach of some on here. Can we have some common sense now and wait for a reaction from the club.

2,500 season ticket holders had to move seats entirely and have actually embraced the move because what does it matter in the end.
Meanwhile, the JHU cry that they have to walk a tiny bit further.

My brother really struggles to walk, he has a metal rod in his spine and is a blue badge holder. Last match he had to walk all the way round the club from the cricket field car park. Same when leaving.
