Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
So they didn't build new, just moved the old ones?
No expense spared here.
Are the operators still sat in there?

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
Seems strange to move them there as CF queues get quite big before the game for home fans.
They could block most of the road.

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
Presumably going to use the space behind
Hopefully the queues won’t stop the team charabangs driving round the block

If Espanyol get new turnstiles, there'll be hell to pay on here.

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
What does moving the turnstiles to there do?
Also I thought I read they wanted to drive the coaches in there like they used to? Obviously that plan isn‘t happening anymore.

More space inside. It’s quite cramped in there.RickyBobby wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:10 pmWhat does moving the turnstiles to there do?

Looks like another bottleneck has been created. Plus side less yards to walk for those in there meaning a few minutes saved on journey times or time for another swift one in the pub.

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
They really need to put a roof over the open air bits of the stand, just like they did at the far end of the Bob Lord Stand, near the club shop.
That would allow people to spread out more, without getting wet.

The coach arrival is at the opposite corner (between the Longside & Jimmy Mac).RickyBobby wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:10 pmWhat does moving the turnstiles to there do?

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
It can look as nice as can be, but with it now taking me 15 minutes after each game to just reach this point where I walk past it, that isn’t going to cut it, because with the traffic build up after that extra delay it ruins my entire Saturday night plans each 3pm home game, now getting me and the family home not before 8pm. I’m seriously considering packing it in next season after 40 years.
Relevance? Well this fan-zone area wouldn't have been possible without what they did to the huge volumes who attend the Longside and to a lesser degree the Jimmy Mac.
Some of these developmental plans are positive, albeit minor, but because they are all a combined package they will still be viewed very negatively until they sort out that problem, and I don’t see a desire to.

To add some balance we've been getting home in record times since the changes. Can't please everyone though

Is that because of crowds or distance?

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
We seem to be spending a lot of time and money "polishing" the proverbial when I can't help feeling something rather more fundamental is needed and would be better in the long term, especially at the cricket field end. Having said that I don't think the phrase "long term" is particularly common in football speak.

It's because I'm 30 minutes later getting home now

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
Affects me the opposite way.
Getting out of the CFS and straight to my car means I beat a lot of the traffic I used to contend with on the hour and half drive home.
Used to take me 30/40mins to get out of Burnley and onto the motorway but since I'm on the other side of the stand and closer to where I park..... I end up with 5/10 mins traffic to get to the motorway.
One of best things that's happened in ages is moving it over to that side (for me)
Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
It was a serious question, not sure why the sarcastic reply.
Are you 30 mins later because there's more crowd to get through thus adding time on, or do you have to walk further, or a mixture of both?

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
I wonder if spending time around the shiny new stadium at his other club will make Mr Pace think differently about Turf Moor's future ?

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
Wasn’t sarcastic at all. I’ve explained it previously but it takes me longer to get home.
Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
we need to take over the full cricket field stand (more happy supporters getting home quicker) and put the away fans at the side of the longside upper n lower and just the lower

Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
Reminds me of Sparta Prague. They used to have a McDonalds attached with a serving counter on the upper deck which was unusual.
Re: Cricket Field Stand turnstiles
Correct Zizkov, unfortunately the away fans wouldn't be escorted past that stand thus avoiding being pelted by ale and hot dogs from above as per when Banik Ostrava rock up into town.

The Police operation when someone particularly aggro turns up is something to be seen tbf. Something akin to stormtropper paramilitary levels from the local Police here.

I suppose some people just prefer to be sitting at home with a cup of tea (or something!) rather than sitting in their car waiting for traffic to move. If sitting in a car is just as attractive as being at home, it wouldn't matter if you don't get home till tomorrow.Barlickclaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 7:49 pmIt's only really a problem if you need to be home earlier. Honestly, i think it looks decent and frees up a decent amount of previously wasted space
