Re: Roberts
Injury aside, a long time I suspect given the performances out wide in recent games (last night apart) barring injuries.

Re: Roberts
So it could be a broken ankle which is a shame because he was very consistent last season....

Re: Roberts
Roberts out is the least of my worries now we have Walker, much as Connor is a valued member of the squad
Re: Roberts
They wouldn't have been fighting for the same role. We've had to play Oliver Sonne in the Premier league due to Roberts injury.warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 11:37 amRoberts out is the least of my worries now we have Walker, much as Connor is a valued member of the squad
He's got to be one of the poorest players in the division.

Re: Roberts
Tuanzebe should now be fit-he played all of last night. Most of his games for Ipswich in the PL last season were from RB. He surely must be an improvement on Sonne

Re: Roberts
I'm loathe to make firm judgements on players after one performance, but I thought there were worrying signs in Tuanzebe last night. He wasn't great on the ball and was ponderous. He struggled on the half turn, and looked relatively leaden footed. Last night was a game where the team massively under performed, so I'd take the performance with a huge pinch of salt, but for me, they were worrying signs. That said, I thought both full backs were very poor too.warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 24, 2025 11:45 amTuanzebe should now be fit-he played all of last night. Re: Roberts
I agree re Tuanzebe Dan. He looked at times like he’d been dropped into a sport that he didn’t really understand.
Clearly performed well for Ipswich in a different position last season (albeit with some injury issues) but I was very surprised at how uncomfortable he looked. I wasn’t hugely impressed when he came on v Derby either for the same reasons.

Re: Roberts
It would definitely have been Roberts for Sonne at the start of the season

Re: Roberts
Roberts had a set back and out for a few months according to Parker. We never know what the truth is with these things but it never really looked like he was close regardless of what Parker had said so I think they've known this for a while.
One of the biggest mistakes we've made was not signing a right wing back and then going 3 at the back. I still think it was an oversight not trying Koleosho there.

Re: Roberts
Not keeping Koleosho was a serious error it left us very short on the right wing but never would I have used him at full back he couldn't tackle .
Re: Roberts
Not sure how anyone can watch Koleosho and think, "yes, he'd make a good defender."

Re: Roberts
Koleosho as a RWB is comedy gold, only Edwards is less of a tackler in the entire squad

Re: Roberts
Ah yes because wing backs are notoriously strong defenders. Victor Moses and Adams Traore being 2 absolute stalwarts.
He would have Walker covering behind him so it quickly flexes into a 4 at the back. His pace then helps us get up.the pitch when penned in.
I don't rate him as an attacking force but it would have made the most out of his attributes and given us a different option.

Re: Roberts
With Walker in such good form, Roberts is the least of my worries, and of course Tuanzebe played most of his games for Ipswich at RB. In fact Roberts being injured gives Parker one less problem at present
