1962 revisited
1962 revisited
Next season Spurs v Burnley at Wembley, could be one of our biggest followings for an away league game.

How many will they allow in 'the away end' then?

Re: 1962 revisited
Be interesting to know how many posters on here were at the '62 Final. Just found my ticket, H 55 standing section, tucked away in a drawer.
There was a recent thread on the 1947 Cup Final and one poster was actually there on the day.

I was there royboy and in the same section as you, which isn't really a surprise. So disappointed at the end because I don't think we quite had the 'rub of the green' --- nothing changes! lol

'rub of the green'
I think today we would say that 'we didn't turn up' at Wembley in 1962. Spurs were a side then that you couldn't afford to do that against. We'd also had a poor run of results pre-Wembley. The semi V Spurs a year earlier we lost 3-0 which appears like a convincing win but in truth we played well and certainly didn't get ' the rub of the green' that day. Got some joy 54 years ago though at their place. Anyone get to that game?

Re: 1962 revisited
I must admit. silky, that John Angus thinks along the same lines as you, as far as he is concerned, however, there were still a couple of contentious decisions which went against us which, nowadays, would have been major talking points amongst the 'pundits'
I couldn't get off school for the cup match in 1963 because it was played on a Wednesday afternoon, however, we got a good 3- 0 win so I was well pleased.

Re: 1962 revisited
I was born in May 1962 so probably wasn't aware of what was going on. Some say....it's still the same! In which case you can f*ck off!
