Super Taff was usually No 11 but like many wingers of the 70's he sometimes wore 7.

Can't believe no ones mentioned a local lad: John Connelly, FA Cup runners up medal, English championship medal and World Cup winners medal.

Tony Morley: I reckon was 11.
What I do recall, I think,
wasn't it he who shaved his head when he came from Preston?
An unusual thing in the 70's, when even I had hair down to my knees.

TC did have a couple of 11's ( against Bolton and Stoke at the start of the '77/'78 season) but the others were 7, apart from the odd 12.

Did Mike Summerbee ever wear 7 in any of his 50-odd appearances? - I do remember him, a right winger, being asked to play at left back part way through one game and doing a sort of clown-impression walk to show what he thought of the idea..

Right wing 7, Left wing 11. That's how it used to be. Hence James mainly 11, Cochrane mainly 7. Morley mainly 11.
Morley arrived with long hair but shaved it in the off season the first year he was here.
