We need McParland back

Post by ablueclaret » Wed Jan 25, 2017 4:32 pm

Now he knew how to identify players and get them over the line.

Indeed he did. I've got a nasty feeling in Brady we have the next Stephens/Lansbury. Spend all window chasing the same player.

Other than Andre Gray (and he wasn't exactly under the radar), who did McParland identify and get over the line?

Let me guess, Renny Smith and Dan Agyei?

Can we credit him with Barton, to be fair?

That was down to Dyche, if you believe what Barton said at the time.

You're forgetting Chris Long. Sub for Fleetwood last night.

In his short time here he got things done and some potential and real talent onboard, wish you could say the same since his departure.

I agree.
We've signed nobody since he left and I still wonder how we managed the previous 130 years or so without him.

Is this because it's looking likely that Robert Snodgrass has opted for a move to a bigger club in London, which can afford (or will pay) significantly bigger wages?

What would the benefit of McParland been in this deal?

We now have Nicky Law, a real football man. Let's see what he brings to the table apart from astonishing good looks.

The difference this time is that Norwich are prepared to sell. If the player wants to come I think we'll get him.

Who did the spotting and negotiations for Howe?

Now they got some talent in to the club.

Barton specifically referred to mcparland as a reason why he signed for us

Obviously McParland won't be returning and yesterday saw some encouraging signs on the recruitment front but our ability to scout in the lower divisions appears non existent.

You stated last summer we aren't capable of scouting in Europe when it became clear we were going to sign Defour (who's turned out to be a reasonable player for us surprisingly for you), now we aren't capable of scouting the lower divisions.....

Then on another thread you're whining about the age of players we're signing.

Get yourself down to the club and volunteer your services.

At least give him the postcode so he can use it in his sat nav.

ABC's development over time:

2010-2014 - In depth analysis of games he doesnt attend. David Edgar and Kev McDonald are underrated by the managers in charge. We also have too many wingers and our squad is too big.
2014/15 - We dont have enough wingers our squad is too small.
2015/16 - Again, in depth critical analysis of games he doesnt attend. James Tarkowski arrives and is the new Pele. Renny Smith is recruited by the indomitable Frank McParland and is the answer to all our midfield woes.
2016/17 - Tarka is vastly underused and should be our new Gattuso. Don't put him in, in place off Mee though as we will risk losing all our centre backs in the summer. Renny Smith is no longer mentioned. We also miss Frank McParland despite not knowing what he actually contributed.
