Begovic

Post by Quickenthetempo » Fri Jan 27, 2017 2:21 pm

I'm quite shocked that the big boys are going to allow B'mouth to sign him for 12m with some of the keepers playing for them.

Liverpool, Everton and City are crying out for a keeper of his calibre.

Where does that leave Tom's valuation?

Didn't Arsenal pay less then that for Cech?

I think Begovic is a better keeper than Tom personally.

Not sure how you can claim that.

Maybe a fair evaluation of the two basing them off Heaton's current form and Begovic's of 2 seasons ago, when he was playing week in week out with Stoke. But to say a keeper that has sat on the shelf for two seasons is better than Heaton? Seems at best to be poor judgement.

With a bit of luck he wont be better then Heaton.
Have they got another CB in yet to replace the young lad who went back to Chelsea?

Very good signing. Boruc is a liability.

Yep, good signing.
Shouldn't take him too long to get up to speed with Bournemouth, and a serious upgrade on Boruc.

He's a very good keeper. There's no doubt about that.

He has played for Bournemouth before, on loan from Portsmouth when he was learning his trade. His last game was a home defeat to Carlisle in 2007 when Max Gradel was in the line-up and Sam Vokes came on as a sub. He had a shocker but seems to have done nothing but improve since. If he joins The Cherries his goalkeeping coach will be Neil Moss, the man who was having to call time on his injury hit career when Begovic was brought in.

He will be replacing Boruc, the goalkeeper who he scored against. He might not like the sight of him anymore haha.

I'd be looking for a goalkeeper if Boruc was my first choice - Begovic was outstanding at Stoke but he's not played often enough since leaving and, when he does play, doesn't look as good a goalkeeper.
