Post by Claretmatt4 » Wed Feb 01, 2017 7:07 pm

Loved the one I saw on here, forgive me but I can't remember the posters name.

(Twist and Shout by the Beatles)
Shake it up Brady!
Twist and Shout!
Cmon cmon cmon cmon Brady now!
Cmon and work it all out!

Any more?

I'd love a return of the Willie Morgan song from yesteryear:

We've got Robbie, Robbie, Robbie, Robbie Brady
On the wing
On the wing
We've got Robbie, Robbie, Robbie, Robbie Brady
On the wing
On the wing

Please stand up,
Please stand up
'Cause he's Rob Brady, yes he's the real Rob Brady,
All you other Rob Bradys are just imitating
So won't the real Rob Brady, please stand up,
Please stand up,
Please stand up.

Etc.

I can really see that catching on.....plus it's a standy uppy song, there!

Another one here for the return of this classic.
I think jeff Hendrick deserves a song as well now.

Rinse and repeat, Robbie Blake style.

Used to love it when the Oh Robbie Robbies rang out when the little magician was on form.

I've heard it from different people down the years (it was before my time), but they all sang it with 4x Willies and then Morgan?? There were a couple of older guys singing the Willie Morgan song for fun a couple of years ago on the Longside, and they also sang it 4x Willie?

Trying to remember the original tune but the name escapes me. (Edit: Ging Gang Goolie)

That one above doesn't seem to make sense in that tune?

Missed this one. Yeah, to this tune then 4x Willies makes absolute sense and fits perfectly. That's how I know the song.

Brady's a winger
Always on the ball
Taking on defenders
then he scores a goal

We found the money
In our dry powder store
Signed up Robbie Brady
now watch him score

Friday night he's drinking in the bridge Inn
Saturday he's running down the wing
He's our super Robbie Brady
See Burnley win

To the tune of Dirty old Town :-

We had 2 lads,
From the Emerald Isle,
Jeff Hendriiiiick and Stephen Ward!
And then a 3rd,
We chased for a whiiiiiile,
Robbie Brady, Robbie Brady!

Okay, it needs some work. And it's late. And it's probably utter 5hite in the eyes of all, but I want us to try and come up with some original chants to new tunes.

Sang at the right pace it can be amazing. FC United used to sing it about their new ground and still do and it sounded brilliant

They still do, I was there at the weekend for their game against Salford City and with an attendance of 4,200 it did sound pretty bloody impressive, albeit it only got one rendition.

They also have a chant to the tune of Anarchy in the UK by The Sex Pistols but I can't even begin to think up words for that one right now. I think we should be able to come up with words to a tune such as Year 2000 by Pulp that's fast and punchy and can be a chant! Or even Sit Down by James?

I've been on many FC United games, Home and away, ever since they were born as one of my mates step dad was one of the original 10 who founded the club, and the atmosphere is always fantastic. the Anarchy In The UK tune is "I am an FC fan, I am Mancunian, I know what I want, I know how to get it, I wanna destroy Glazer and Sky, cos I wanna be at FC"

I think the way they do Anarchy in the UK would work quite well for us too. Sung at the right pace and without the speed clapping it sounds great. Posted it the other day in another thread for song ideas but I'll put it here again...

I am a Burnley fan
I am a Lancashire man
I know what I want
And I know how to get it
I wanna destroy Bastards and Coyle
Cos I wanna be at BFC

As someone who has sang the Willie Morgan song on many occasions (When he was playing for us) I need to clarify how it should sound:

"We've got Robbie, Robbie, Robbie Brady on the wing, on the wing!"
"Robbie, Robbie, Brady, Robbie Brady on the wing!"

Repeat
