Re: Money
£10 million in 1995 is about 17.5 this year. So you probably spent the same. Plus your money came from that bloke who's family sold you down the river when he pegged it.

Re: Money
Weren't they breaking British transfer fees back then?
So I suppose the equivalent of buying 2 or 3 players
at £50m, £60m or 89m each?
Plus a British record for a goalkeeper.
What is Saxo on?

It's as factual as your 'factual' post yesterday re Bolton's debt.
The difference between the Burnley and Blackburn spend is that we earned our money first.

And by spending someone elses money and inflating your little club beyond its natural level you attracted venkys, kentaro, SEM, Steve Kean, Jerome Anderson and Owen Coyle
Lifes a bitch eh

Albert Einstein's Theory of Stupidity is doing something wrong, then continually going back to do it again. So his Theory of Evolution is spot on. He knew there would be complete wazzocks like Saxo.

Rovers probably spent more on Shebby and Steve Keen than they did on their Premier League winning side.

Re: Money
it amazes me how so many of you get caught on the end of Saxo's fishing line every post. If you don't like him, stick him on your foe list, me personally I find him amusing and annoying in equal measures and to be fair he takes an awful lot of abuse and he keeps on coming back. Strong chin which makes me think he really is a closet claret haha

You are missing out. I thought long and hard about doing this, but there are far more deserving of that fate than this muppet. At least this lad has the bottle to actually admit being a steward.SussexDon1inIreland wrote:added to my 'foe' list
There are a couple or more on here who profess to be Clarets that are far more deserving of being on a "foe" list.

I think this thread proves that money never leads to anything good

Before posting on these boards, I used to think the fact that I annoy people and get under their skin was unfair and down to my appearance. These boards have taught me this is not the case and I'm just very talented at being a bit of a tosser..
Its just my personality and who I am, I can't change. There's no genuine malice.

Re: Money
I know it's fishing, but I just want to point something out; we will likely still make a profit this year, whereas Rovers have lost money in all but 4 seasons since Sky invented football. They lived WAY beyond their means, which is nothing like us who are spending money we've earned through promotion, and likely won't make a loss.
The other thing is that you can forget 'normal' inflation. Let's talk football inflation. In the early 90's teams got £3m per season Fromm Sky. The top few teams now get around £140m, so the £30m Walker spent can be timesed by around 47!! What's that, about £1.4 BILLION?
It would take around that to truly compete with the top 3 or 4 for a few season nowadays too.
