My ex Mrs worked in a sunbed shop in Rawtenstall when we were together.
There was a small gap at the bottom of the cubicles.
A lady came out of one saying she thought a bloke in the cubicle next door was peeping on her while she was getting dressed.
It turned out to be Gordon Armstrong. He was just tanning his calves apparently

I was once in Mean Cat Daddies and I went up to this bloke and said oi you look like David Coulthard (having a laugh as you do). He wasn't very pleased as it was Andy Cooke. Poor b**stard on his own in there on the pull (me too). He wasn't very pleased. I saw him a few weeks later, queuing up at Kentucky Fried Chicken on Colne Rd. Still, he scored those gems against Plymouth to keep us up, one of the best headers I've ever seen on the Turf, so them nuggets must have done him good.

I was in American on my honeymoon. We were doing a 5 week tour of Vegas, East coast etc. Anyway I was in an Irish bar next to my hotel in Carmel where pebble beach is. My wife had gone back to the hotel and I was sat at the bar having one more drink watching basketball. I then heard a strong cockney accent behind me. It was David Bentley. He came up to me and said "you from Lancashire?" I said "yeah I'm a burnley fan" his dad who was with him said "f*ck me you lot get everywhere". Anyway we got chatting about golf, which was why he was there, and he asked me why I was there, where I had been travelling to etc. He was a nice guy. His dad however was a clown. ****** up and just embarrassing himself. I could tell David seemed a bit embarrassed . His dad went over to a group of girls all about 21 and started chatting them up. He then bought a massive round of drink for the girls and didn't tip the barman. That went down like a led balloon and the barman told David Bentley that he wasn't going to serve his dad again. David pulled out a wad of cash and gave it to the barman.
He then turned to me and said "shall we go fire into those birds over there? " I said " no I just told you I'm on my honeymoon". He replied "yeah but she isn't here? Let's go fire into them and take them to the club?" I said "alright then il just nip to the loo". I left

Re: Ever had a negative experience..
I had an altercation with Leighton James some 25 years ago when we lived on the same street.
He came to my house to have a word with me about my 'naughty'son, who would have been no older than 8 years old.
I can't recall what my son had supposed to have done..maybe knock a door run or kicking a football against the gable end...or maybe calling him an arrogant welsh c*nt.. something trivial anyway.
It was his obnoxious arrogant attitude that incited me to tell him in no uncertain terms to go back home.
We would have a chat and a pint in the local pub previous to this incident but that was the last time he ever spoke to me.
Am I bovvered !?

Re: Ever had a negative experience..
Not my personal experience - a few years back I was doing some consultancy work for a company in Worthing. I got talking to the MD who said he was a Burnley fan. I questioned why he became a Burnley fan since having no obvious ties to the town. He said he used to be an Arsenal fan back in the sixties as a kid and went to see an Arsenal v Burnley game - after the game he chose a spot to grab some autographs from his team however he was blanked by every player.... so he approached the Burnley players, all of whom signed his program and chatted to him about the game despite him wearing an Arsenal scarf. Ever since been a Claret.

i think the lesson to be learned is not to engage with the players at all.if they are just anonymous representitives in our colours, and they can play well , thats preferable to finding out they are a bunch of ***** in the flesh.

Counter to these I've never gotten a Burnley players autograph without them saying "thank you".

Re: Ever had a negative experience..
Chris McCann was a top bloke, was wanting to get a few autographs along with parents and their children in the car park behind JH stand.. he come out ignored all the children holding programmes and shirts for him to sign
Walk past them all then one parent stopped him and said 'these children have been waiting, please give them an autograph' to which he replied 'For F### sake' and signed 2 or 3 shirts and shot off

Re: Ever had a negative experience..
Not a bad experience, it was funny. At the Bristol city game my son and daughter were getting autographs and pics taken from the players. All to a man were great. However Nick Pope had a steward come running up to him as he had locked his girlfriend in the car! He carried on signing autographs and having pic taken. About 5 mins later same steward said "Excuse me Nick, the lady says she is getting annoyed now!" He just laughed and handed her the keys!
Re: Ever had a negative experience..
Not a negative experience exactly. When I was younger a was training with Burnley school of excellence for quite awhile. Anyway one day I was asked if I wanted to be ball boy. I agreed and at half time we were losing so I knocked on the dressing room door and shouted "come on burnley". Someone came out and bollocked me. Not sure who it was but was in the Stan Ternant years. Ive always wished I was invited in to give the team a bollocking.

Re: Ever had a negative experience..
Not negative but we did meet Keane, Boyd and Gudmundsson at the train station after the Watford game, great set of lads, posed for pictures and had a good chat.
Keane said top ten finish is the target, good lad!!
Only later on at the next station did it get a bit rowdy and a few over excited fans wouldn't leave them alone, at this point they quietly went and stood upstairs out of the way, which I thought was fair enough.
What they were doing on the trains, who knows.

I did a shed load of consultancy work for a former Claret called Ian Patterson last year (dubious honour of playing one game for Burnley under Jimmy Mullen). He was a really nice bloke; very complimentary about Burnley and our great support.
He owes me £9,000 plus VAT and has done a runner. B@stard.

Re: Ever had a negative experience..
The day we signed Chris Vinnicombe I saw him walking down Charter Walk and as a wide eyed 10 year old, approached him and welcomed him to Burnley - he was an absolute gent but was wearing a really bad shell suit.

Re: Ever had a negative experience..
The Barton one is a tad unfair i'd say, surely if JB (or any player for that reason) read every tweet/request that a fan put on his feed especially for a match day request he'd never get in the right mind set for the match.
In the 90's (when he was at Bury) I had to get a totally slaughtered Chris Lukketti into a cab home (he was playing the following day) The bird he'd been incapable of returning her affection turned her attention to me,we got the same cab back to mine and she then started vomitting all over the taxi. I lost the bird and £20 for the mess. A negative experience indeed. Funnily enough CL was subbed at half time the next day.

Re: Ever had a negative experience..
Naturally CL didn't play for Burnley but a very good (also played for Celtic) striker in the Stan tern years tries to pick a fight with my (much bigger) mate in Savanahs (after an way game cant picture the game though) for simply being asked to move out the way near the top of the stairs
