Lincoln tickets
Re: Lincoln tickets
Well based on the evidence of the last round, and in particular the number of Bristol City fans that turned up to half fill the away section, (as well as all the previous detail of Lincoln season ticket sales) the allocation was prima facie reasonable.
Bristol City are (currently) 3 divisions higher, have far more season ticket sales, and the match wasn't on tv (that being the case with Ipswich whose fans presumably would rather watch the game on TV than go the not-very-far to Lincoln and with our game with Lincoln)..............but there were loads of empty seats.

Re: Lincoln tickets
Mr Imp, I think you will find the divs on your forum with the inflammatory posts kicked all this off.
"Arrogance definition, offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride." applies to some of you lot as well
Just go back to the first posts on the subject, and we are blameless.
Repeated attempts to explain to your more clueless fans, especially the ones who seem to not realise that we actually used to play each other on a fairly regular basis exhausted patience over here pretty quickly.
Hope its a good game, and the best team wins.

Hillimp:
Many thanks for your definition of arrogance.
Could you please explain to us why you asked for 35% of our ground?
Could you also tell us how many of your fans will be paying in excess of the
face value of the £10 ticket? Is there a bucket in the ticket office where people
can leave the extra money?
When answering these two questions, could you bear in mind your definition of arrogance?
Just a tip, I would suggest you tone down your language when referring to Claret Tony,
he is one of the people who administers this message board.
I hope you enjoy the game and have a great day out.

Re: Lincoln tickets
Lancasterclaret...you have totally hit the nail on the head. I was one of the 4 posters he has mentioned. I warned them not to expect too many tickets. I got shouted down. Then reality hit and the toys went totally out of the pram. Totally disproportionate and bizarre responses followed. I happen to think the 4 of us have been quite restrained in the face of the replies we have faced. They seem to have lost all sense of reality over there. Getting a bit giddy methinks after half a season of success.

Re: Lincoln tickets
I've just spotted this on the official site:
Please be aware that if you are purchasing tickets for this game from the 'LN' postocdes or the surrounding areas you will be contacted by a member of Burnley FC ,and may have your ticket cancelled, and you will not be reimbursed if you are found not to be a genuine fan of Burnley Football Club.
I wonder what process they would use to try to find out if someone is a genuine fan of Burnley Football Club or not?

Lets be honest, after the last few seasons we've had, if you didn't have a Clarets number before we drew the Mighty Imps in the cup, then you most certainly don't deserve a ticket for this mouthwatering encounter....... because you aint a Claret !!!!

I know plenty of people from round here who are fans of other teams who go on games just for something to do and an excuse to get smashed and act like morons. So why are these measures being taken to stop people with LN Post Codes?
Re: Lincoln tickets
Tickets are already showing 'limited' in the James Hargreaves, Bob Lord and Jimmy Mc stands and I'm not sure they've gone on general sale yet. I don't think Lincoln need worry about getting extra seats or whether we will sell enough to justify not giving them the 15,000 they believe they could shift.

That's because all season tickets holders seats are unavailable on the website, unsold tickets will become available on Friday and things will look a lot different.dushanbe wrote:Tickets are already showing 'limited' in the James Hargreaves, Bob Lord and Jimmy Mc stands and I'm not sure they've gone on general sale yet. I think this is worthy of its own thread. However, I would suggest that the best way is for them to prove that either they, a parent, grandparent or blood relative attended the Turf in 86/87 for every home game after Christmas.

Re: Lincoln tickets
Willy I think the problem you had is just a minor glitsch on the website. I've found that whenever you change an adult ticket for a child the price doesn't immediately change, but if you click through to the payment page it does charge the correct amount.Willy wrote:I went online to buy mine and my 2 sons for the JMU and they were in the basket but both my sons were down as adults and there was no way of changing this.
I therefore rang the ticket office to explain this and was told to ring again and choose option 2.
I did this holding on for 15 minutes before putting the phone down as I'd jumped from number 5 to number 3 in the queue whilst listening to a repetitive plug for the Holiday Inn Express.
I then rang again at lunch time and hung up after 25 minutes of the same.
I rang back chose option 1 and bought the tickets at the correct value whilst incurring a £1.60 booking fee!
Apologies if this is not what you found but it may be worth a try if you have problems in future.

Re: Lincoln tickets
I imagine any suggestions of your fans being "horrible" go back to the 80's where, let's face it, you had some naughty boys, as did Burnley. You had a reputation for it just like us.Hillimp wrote:Having watched this forum for a week or so it may be appropriate to look at a definition of arrogance:
Arrogance definition, offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride.
The Clarets fans who have posted on the Lincoln forum (90 posts from 4 posters alone) have certainly tried to explain the 15% rule even though we knew it already and have explained all the reasons we should not expect any more tickets. We are disappointed but resigned to that and have accepted being lectured on our own forum quite stoically.
As for the above posts, the tickets have been rationed to one per season ticket holder and can be bought on the phone. There are then ticket book sales and the general public can not get any until next Thursday and only if there are any left at that point. When 5000 tickets were available for Ipswich the queue stretched around the ground and some queued for 7-8 hours. I would contend that we are not a Horrible little club with horrible fans (Claret Tony) and in evidence we have gone through 5 rounds of the FA cup against teams from 4 leagues of English football without a single reported issue of crowd trouble. There are very few Lincoln fans who have been to Turf Moor and we are looking forward to visiting a new ground and town. Arrogance?? not from us.
With the game being on TV, and being an early kick off, it will put a few fans off attending. Without TV I'd have expected a near sell out, and you never know we might still get close? With you mentioning arrogance though, I'd suggest you get yourself on Twitter and see some of the comments on there, with your fans assuming we'll have a half empty ground and that you'd sell 7,000 no problem. They also don't seem to understand that there is no segregation to have been able to give you more than 4,000.
Overall the entire argument, whether your fans understand it or not, is over 800 seats. But why should our season ticket holders in that stand have to move when we have no need to give them to you? Every single one of your season ticket holder is able to purchase a ticket, so all of your season committed fans can attend, yet your fans want our committed fans to shift out of the way so your day trippers can attend.

However the Lincoln 'firm' the LTE (Lincoln Transit Executive) have disbanded as they are mainly Grandparents now, the local office of the Klu Klux Klan closed some years ago and you can't get a decent attendance anywhere at a Nazi rally in Lincoln these days.

Having attended the FA Cup tie between Burnley and Lincoln City in November 1996, and the League Cup tie in August 1997, I can confirm that very few Lincoln fans came to Turf Moor. Certainly not the 7,000 they reckon they could bring this time round.Hillimp wrote:There are very few Lincoln fans who have been to Turf Moor and we are looking forward to visiting a new ground and town. I've never seen such a set of self-entitled supporters. You wouldn't see fans of Man Utd complaining over the ticket allocation, yet you see the glory hunters of Lincoln jumping aboard this bandwagon. We've allocated enough tickets for your average home crowd to attend, which is like Burnley getting 19/20,000 away tickets. The equivalent of Lincoln's demand would be us crying that we didn't get 40,000 tickets.
Every time I've seen a post on a Lincoln board, or something on Lincolnshire Live or Twitter, all I can do is say to myself in an Alan Partridge voice:
Who...
Who...
Who do you think you are?

We have 3 ST holders, but other regular walkons want to attend making us needing 6 tickets, I bought online on Tuesday, and chose from the tickets available. I cant see there being many better seat options for 6 folk together when the ST release takes place Friday.

Just checked and you can buy as many as you want now but limited seats available, so probably best to wait until tomorrow when all unclaimed seats of ST holders will be released for general sale.Leisure wrote:Don't know for sure but I would guess that once they go on general sale you would be able to get as many as you like. You are not answering my questions:
1/. Why did you ask for 35% of our ground?
2/. How many of your fans have paid over £10 for their tickets?
Have you a bucket in your ticket office where they put their voluntary donation to your club?
How much have you raised so far?

Quick question on new season tickets. Any idea why I can’t buy a junior season ticket online? It keeps showing up as an adult ticket. Ticket office was less then helpful over the phone other than come down to the club shop to sort it out.
