Unbelievable...

"Deliberate" or not... that was not going in without his hand.

Handball should just be handball and offside should just be offside. Saves all the ambiguity.

If that were the case, all an attacker needs to do is boot it at a defender's hand in the area and they'd get a penalty.

When a goal is scored or a clear goal is kept out by the use of a hand it should be irrelevant whether it's deliberate or not.

I don't think there is any way that goal should be allowed

They can put another six in with their hands against any of our rivals. No problem.

Any advantage gained by contact with the hand, deliberate or not should be penalised particularly in the case of a goal being scored from the hand. Whacking the ball at someone's hand being the exception.

The linesman had a clear view and after a discussion, left it to the ref. If that had been a defender it would have been a definite penalty!

According to Wenger Arsenal have been hard done by this season with bad decisions.

He forgets us being robbed at both the Turf and the Emirates and no doubt he will forget today's handball.

Apparently the most idiotic law states that a player is allowed to deflect the ball away with his hand if it's going to hit him in the face, even if it results in a goal, like their winner against us!

You could say that about any ball above chest height anywhere on the field at any time though.

It's ok Thierry Henry said the goal should have stood and he knows all about handballs ......... when they are in his favour of course.

I find Arsenal very easy to dislike. Can't stand their play acting, diving and rolling around which has crept in to our game. As much as Sanchez is a fantastic player, he lets himself down with all his feigning injuries. Glad to see him getting booked for it.

Also, since when has Wallclock been such a brute! Did you see his pathetic spat with Maguire?

Hate quite a lot of what Wenger has brought to this country in his 20 years here. Time for him to go.

I think the bottom line is that without video technology, it would be almost impossible for either the referee or linesmen in their positions and in real time to be certain that it was handball.
In which case the goal has to stand, he can't just guess.
I considered this to be equally the case with Vokes against Leicester.

Seeing as it's a against Hull and the score is 1-0 I'm happy to let this one go.

But it really is time for the FA and premiership to wake up and allow video replays. American Football, Rugby Union and Rugby League all have them without any problems. Limit it to penalties and goals and allow 2 challenges per half.

When a goal is scored in top division English football, it would be easy to resolve any potential unlawful activity within 30 seconds.

It should be used, but only in the event that the ball has crossed the line. Not for offsides or red cards that take place elsewhere on the pitch.

Apparently the ref apologised to the hull players re the handball which seems to indicate that he wouldn't have given it if he had seen it.

There are too many to mention. Many of them contestable and arguably just continental in their nature rather than directly attributable to him.....

In particular, I am aware of how their youth scouting system was set up by him, in terms of what scouts were instructed to look for and in terms of how they were brought through.

I also can't stand this crying about having his players protected while his players were busy man-handling the opposition and so cynical in their style of play, haranguing referees....then protected in many ways by the establishment......etc...etc...

.....ugh... I can feel myself getting sucked in to the list of stuff.....I just haven't got time to do it!

Ps. I'd like to point out....he's not actually been very successful since the old guard retired....(Was it 3 titles in his first 8 years and none in the last 12?)

When a goal is scored the ball is dead, players are celebrating or complaining. It's normally pretty apparent when something untoward has occurred. Within that time frame, especially in the Premier League with all the cameras, all you need is an official to review the replay and rule it out.

It would likely only be used to invalidate goals given because the other way round has largely been rectified by technology already.

In our games so far this season the Arsenal goal at home and Vokes goal against Leicester would be ruled out, but not the penalty at Arsenal as that led to a penalty, not a goal. That's how I'd like it done anyway - it doesn't eliminate honest human error, which is important.

People will always moan, can't do anything about that.

I am surprised I'd ever say it but I do now think referees and linesmen do have some kind of myopia where Arsenal are concerned. It happens too often.

An interesting issue but if the incident contributes towards Hull's relegation, all well and good. Every little helps, as they say. ;)

Wasn't the only decision though. Gibbs's foul on the forward was as clear a red as you'll veer see. He's taking the man who then has a clear sight on goal 35 yds out. Would have been off in a shot if it had been Hull on Sanchez.

Ask the old guard who were there when he took over.
Extended their careers through the use of sports science, dietary changes etc.

Top flight football in this country was still about drinking and eating junk after matches before the mid 90's and Wenger played a huge part in changing that mindset.

As for how he protects his players, as infuriating as he is about it, that's his job ultimately.

He's one of the best managers to ever be in English football, regardless of the relative lack of success in the last decade.

Hes probably peaked now and it wouldn't be a bad thing if he left Arsenal, but English football will always be better off due to his being here.

.......... but English football will always be better off due to his being here.
Fair enough opinions.....I just don't agree. I think he arrived with a championship side pretty much in place. I think he made some excellent signings but ultimately, HE has been 'good'. When having to rely solely on his own brand without the benefit of the early grounding being set.....he ultimately cannot win the big one. We're living in the era of Sky and its massively over-hyping media machine. I'm confident had we been able to compare with 10-100 other managers over the last 100 years at 4 divisions + of football, "One of the best ever," is a little over the top - in 20 years, 3 Championships! Not that great, really.

Always better off due to his being here? Diving, cheating, feigning injuries, lambasting referees when things go against him, ignoring their mistakes when things go his way, treating the FA Cup & League Cup with disdain, pushing officials, pushing other managers, throwing his rattle out of his pram when he first arrived about what the press were going to write about him and threatening to quit, promoting athletes over others, wanting honest players banned......

All opinions are valid. I respect him. I think he has been one of the better managers of the last 20 years...but I don't forget that the odds have been VERY heavily stacked in his favour under the rules and regulations of Premier League.
