Re: Crowd v Lincoln
I did a very very very rough count of the unsold seats on the stadium map and, assuming the Cricketfield is sold out home and away, there were about 3,500 to 4,000 tickets left. So 17,000 crowd minimum so far.

Well done TeesClaret, I did exactly the same thing! The sales so far are indeed around 17,000 - 17,250. Still 4 days of sales to go, so should be about 20,000.

Appreciate the concern but they have no way of associating my order to one of a Lincoln fan. As long as they dont check my fingers when i hand over the ticket i should be just fine

I wonder what would happen if someone got chucked out for being an away fan and they decided to take the club to court? What's to stop someone changing who they support?Leisure wrote:Princess - I don't want to be a killjoy or dampen your enthusiasm but have you seen this -

I seriously doubt that!
In all seriousness, there is always a risk if you go in the home end, especially as it sounds like tickets are going to go on general sale in Lincoln

I think theyve delayed them going on general sale too early to give your fans a chance to get some of the home tickets. We could have sold half your ground out by now

Its amazing just how a team that averages 4000 fans thinks that we should be giving you 7,000
I can't wait till we go to Old Trafford and I can get annoyed when we don't get an allocation of 30,000

Hmmm. Let me get me specs on...
Now...
If we take a look at previous 'ticket threads' this season, we find, in fact, that Burnley sold out the MAJORITY of home games this season. Wow. That's exactly the opposite of what our Burnley expert and Lincoln fan suggested... Strange.
Just saying...

Yep I am aware that semis are at Wembley but I'm sure that's how it was meant, and having said that there is something in the pipeline to go back to the old way for semis which I would be up for, can't see the point in a cup final there if your there for the semi.

That can't be the same Lincoln City can it, though? Averaging an attendance of 2,300? Surely not?
Bit controversial, though, Goody, actually finding some statistics to back up your point instead of making some random claims about their average attendance being half the ground capacity.

Just because you post emojis after your inane ramblings, doesn't negate the inane rambling.
Have Lincoln fans thought that perhaps going in under the radar might have been your best chance of winning? Burnley fans may have been complacent and almost having some respect for the plucky underdog.
Due to the billy big ******** attitude to a lot of the Lincoln fans on social media, I think we will be well up for this now.
So I hate to break this to you, but there is a massive chance now you'll now get stuffed.
Sorry

The club have stated in the Lincoln ticket info that anyone who buys a ticket with a LN postcode or around that area (without previous history of buying tickets for Burnley games) will get their ticket cancelled without refundTeesClaret wrote:Lincoln will definitely sell all their allocation, and quite a few more in the home seats.

Re: Crowd v Lincoln
Burnley are averaging 97% of the official home capacity sold this season, which is likely why the club didn't give Lincoln any more.
The online ticket sales aren't all tickets as the club have to keep some back just for walk ups, although it's a decent guide.
If the attendance is around 17,000 then that won't be bad. Closer to 19-20,000 and that will be fantastic.

Interesting that our averages THIS season (4000 but closer to 6000 over the last few games) are considerably higher than the Burnley averages in the late 80's. The 'where were you when we were sh*t' argument comes out here. Clearly some board members were there in the bad days hence the 'horrible little club' comments about Lincoln when we were in the same league. An interesting statistic is that our home support at the weekend was 1000 higher than Scunthorpe (our traditional rivals) who are top of L1 two divisions higher.
There are lies, dammed lies and statistics.

There are indeed. You're being disingenuous here, mind. You're not comparing gates when we were in the lower leagues and doing well; like you are now. When we were doing well in the old 4th division, we were doubling and sometimes trebling your current gates.Hillimp wrote:

Let s face it, Burnley is a Football town, as is evidenced by our History. Lincoln, sadly, is not.

You'd have to be completely red and white biased and as thick as pigshit to think that Lincoln City is a similar size football club to Burnley.
That would be like me comparing us to Liverpool.
I don't get why you would even make that comparison, its almost like you want to look a complete tool.

Re: Crowd v Lincoln
Hillimp, Lincoln is a bigger place than Burnley, but in the 1980's, as well as things getting as bad as they could for our club, attendances throughout Europe were the worst they'd ever dropped to, and had UEFA setting up committees to work out how to stop the rot. It was a poor time for most clubs, and we just happened to have our worst ever period during this time. Things have picked up since.Hillimp wrote:If you put your head above the parapet on someone else's board as myself and a certain regal lady have then you can expect it to be shot off. On the flip side, Lincoln have spent 75 years of their history in the bottom divisions and non-League, so that was the norm for you. Even now, when football attendances are booming, you've struggled to get above 3,000 when you're in and around where you've almost always been.
Statistics eh?

To add, I've never minded Lincoln City at all, and actually always wanted you to do well. Perhaps that stems from 1987, I'm not sure, but the way your fans have been handling themselves all over social media has you all coming across as spoilt children who don't have a handle on the past - recent or distant.
