Re: Disgusting fans
To be fair C&J - he has a point. Judging by some of the comments about jhl when me and the hubby had STs on 'the standing area' a few seasons ago you would have thought we were knuckle draggers who stood on wheelchair users knees and punched 5 year old blonde girls with pigtails out of the way to chant racist obscenities.
Im (cough, dammit) in my 40s and was a teacher. Hubby is a time served plasterer. I was sick of this attitude too

Re: Disgusting fans
I'm not sure who is right or wrong but this makes me feel sick. I'm in my sixties and after a few years want to get a season ticket again. But after reading this I just don't want to take a chance.

It's getting very boring is the weekly embarrassing, shocking, pathetic, standing and disgusting Burnley fans threads.

I then said 'I don't mind moving its your seat just ask rather than shove me' and then when I did move I got 'shut up fatty', this from a fellow Burnley fan and a grown adult.
It's pedantic, ignorant and rude people who make football less enjoyable. If I had been awkward I would understand but this man didn't even bother to ask politely if I could move up.
A simple get over it tuddy...lesson learnt don't stand in other people's seats, saves the hassle of what reaction you're about to receive. It's Burnley not Lords cricket ground

We need to get to the bottom of this, what did he say when you suggested this?Tuddybfc wrote:You also seem to be missing the point too flatline, I had no problem moving and as a result he shouldn't have needed to say anything aside from 'excuse me' as I didn't realise I was over a seat not taken by someone in my group. There was no need to 'pay the price'
"Excuse me you're in my seat"
"Oh sorry about that I'll move"
"Cheers"
Prettt simple isn't it
Re: Disgusting fans
All in all Tuddy this "incident" probably set the tone for the crap afternoon that lay ahead.
Time to move on my friend, but be careful where you sit in future.

He's texted me today typing that somebody was stood over his seat in the JHU and he wrote that the person acted like a big Mary Ann when he had to go and sit where he was supposed to.

Re: Disgusting fans
No of course, but I was making a generalised statement against a perceived notion of the JHU, which to be fair is where trouble does happen (and I know it's not everyone in there).
I enjoyed his retort that was aimed directly at me.
And, if you read what I said, I didn't actually say anything about jobs, I said "uneducated". People can have good jobs and still be complete morons.

Re: Disgusting fans
You created the situation, and are unhappy about how it progressed?
The seat number is printed on your ticket. Sit in your seat, or stand in front of it if that's what you prefer.
The guy may have over reacted, but if you were where you should've been, then Mr Crammed has no need to speak to you.

Re: Disgusting fans
Well I was sat near the Lincoln fans in the hospitality boxes and there behaviour was exemplary all afternoon. Nothing wrong in cheering your team on and enjoying yourself, some of you lot need to get a life and grow up
Re: Disgusting fans
When I said 'oh sorry am I in your seat' he just got his seat ticket out of his wallet and then was asking to see my ticket, as I explained earlier in the thread I wasn't in a completely random seat I was just accidentally one too far to the left and had no issue moving. I just said to him 'obviously I don't mind moving just ask' to which a grown man stood on the same row then said shut up fatty or something like that.Burnleyareback2 wrote:We need to get to the bottom of this, what did he say when you suggested this?
Re: Disgusting fans
Or considering I made a simple error of being one seat out of my group, a polite excuse me wouldn't have been any trouble would it? It isn't as though I was being awkward when he wanted me to move, I just did it despite his rude nature, he wasn't worth the troubleuptheclarets86 wrote:A simple get over it tuddy...lesson learnt don't stand in other people's seats, saves the hassle of what reaction you're about to receive. Sorry, I forgot - this forum is only to be used for matters suitable for discussion by the UN Security Council. And this from posters who have used the board to discuss, amongst other things, the relative merits of brown sauce and contribute to a word association game. Legitimate pursuits but it's a bit rich to then be telling others what is, and what is not, worthy of discussion on here.

Completely agree, I hate it when this happens.Tuddybfc wrote: It's pedantic, ignorant and rude people who make football less enjoyable.
We had it very recently, people sat in your seats, not sat in the seats they booked, because yours are better, or its next to their friends or they can't/won't read their tickets.
You ask politely and are met with a, there are plenty of other seats, I want to sit with my friends etc etc, not a polite "sorry".
Who knows how many times this has happened to him.
Re: Disgusting fans
This thread is getting a bit tedious now. Perhaps you should have just levelled him and got yourself ejected from the ground? You wouldn't have had to suffer that 95 minutes of sh1te then.

Re: Disgusting fans
Ruddy, I know we were all upset by the result yesterday but really.
You have added a little bit more to this story numerous times already.
You knew you were standing in front of this supporters seat, he had no need to ask you to move . You just move over and that's the end of it.

Labelling someone uneducated is just as personal an insult. It's a put down usually reserved for the jumped up brainwashed uni students.

COBBLE - you would be more than welcome in the Bob Lord Stand.Leisure wrote:Just get one in the Bob Lord Stand, you'll be out of harms way there!
Five of us transferred our season tickets from the JHU to the BL a few years ago to rid ourselves from the uneducated commoners and it is brilliant in there.
Nobody ever sits in your seat or even dreams of standing in front of it.
We have intellectual conversation for 90 minutes during the game.
At half time we go behind the stands for a top quality pie as you would expect in the BL stand and a 'bene and hot' before returning to our seats for a quick nap and then a bit more football.
You sound like a clever guy and would pass the entrance exam.
Sorry Leisure you are stuck in the heights of the JHU with tubby and beware he doesn't nick your seat

So what happened afterwards? Did you just move after another, unrelated person called you tubby? Did you not respond to that? Where was the second guy sat?
