Brighton vs Derby

Post by Duffer_ » Fri Mar 10, 2017 7:51 pm

Commentator has just said about BHA: "the city, the club and the stadium are ready for the Premier League"; the inference being that a shiny soulless stadium is somehow more worthy than a real organic ground such as ours. Sh1te.

Will Hughes only good enough for Derby's bench. Really? Or is he injured or returning from injury?

Brighton just scored. 1-0.

There was an article in the Daily Mail where they were saying the same thing about Brighton being ready for PL football.

Just made me hope they miss out again, just so they can add to that £150 million they owe Bloom.

I have 5/6 on Brighton tonight. I'm not one for hoping they get promoted but I may as well get a few quid out of it if they are.

only 7 weeks ago Hughes was saying he would rather play regularly for Derby than be on the bench in the Prem. hmmm - such a waste of genuine talent

Derby have been dreadful in the first half.
Brighton are on Sky next Saturday at Leeds.
Will be difficult to decide who I want to win.

Yes but you are clueless, rendering your opinion pointless

Only Vydra and Hughes offered anything for Derby.

What is so good about Dale Stephens? I've seen him a few times now on the TV. He looks a steady if unspectacular player - neat control, good positioning for colleagues, precise and quick short passing. I didn't see him head, tackle, pass long, shoot, run fast or dribble. The sort of player you need in The Championship and perhaps at the lower end of The Premier League (which is what we are) but if we want to progress, don't we need more then he offers?

Wonder if Shackell and Bryson regret their decisions to join/stay at Derby? Or if they're just happy to be earning more money for a championship club?

Bryson was non-descript. Schackell must be injured or suspended as he wasn't in the squad. Baird played centre back and did OK.

We really need to stop looking at Championship players if we ever want to progress.

I think Huddersfield are the only club that could prevent Brighton from getting auto now as they have 2 games in hand on them. But it's Brighton's to lose. Leeds vs Brighton should be a good game.

I tend to agree with Saxo..... Brighton could out-Bournemouth Bournemouth's PL performance..... and ours come to that. If they do get up it will be interesting to witness who they bring in over the summer. Hughton is no mug

He actually said they were a 'potential giant'. I just casually glanced at it, thought 'huh?' and immediately filed it away with the rest of the drivel he passes off as expert knowledge.

I don't mind them coming up. I wouldn't mind seeing them establish themselves in the Premier League. But I don't see them as a 'potential giant'. Or by 'potential giant' is he referring to someone throwing huge amounts of money at a second rate football club, which just happens to have a very familiar ring to it?
