So we're the other 37 mentally Ill lone wolves that have carried out this sort of attack across Europe since 2014.
I wish people wouldn't make it out to be something bigger than it is

Wouldn't surprise me if it is him and he's done it whilst on day release from Prison, it would make a mockery of the judicial system to add salt to the wounds.

morpheus2 wrote:Yeah, gallows humour but maybe not totally without grounds, because so far he fits our currently approved profile of 'mentally ill' - beard, dark skinned, ploughing a car into pedestrians, wielding a blade, probably screaming "Allah is greater" in Arabic....it may transpire that his parents and friends will say that he had not been a good Muslim - he drank, had casual sex but then he became more devout recently, started going to mosque and reading the Qur'an more regularly, became really pious in the last few weeks...became mentally ill.
It may be that he discovered, as it appears that many of the ones who suffer from this particular mental illness also discover, that redemption for those who have been 'bad' Muslims and entry into paradise and access to the virgins is only specifically guaranteed to "those who kill and are killed in the way of Allah" - murder by martyrdom, everybody else has to wait for judgement day to find their fate which is in no way certain, no matter how devout they think they have been, martyrs who murder on the other hand are straight in there.
It is a special particular kind of mental illness, it must have a name by now.....as well as the few closer to home there have been hundreds of similar cases of vehicular attacks by knife wielding Arabic screaming mentally ill bearded mosque going people in Israel in the past few years since the last infitada. It's one of the prefered MOs in this new wave of attacks by the mentally ill these days.
So yes, possibly mentally ill.
I think you're imagining things. I've yet to witness people in the UK calling terrorists 'mentally ill' en masse. In the US there's a trend in the right-wing media to call white mass murderers mentally ill by default while black and Middle Eastern killers default to terrorists, especially if they're Muslims, but that's not a phenomenon that has made it to the UK yet, and even if it did it's one that would have to swap wings.

Sorry old bean, I'm sure I keep reading after virtually every jihadi attack in the West that the perpetrator (if it's a 'lone wolf') has mental health issues, I recall seeing this about the 'Norwegian' gentleman in Russell Sq who was triggered by mental health issues, the Nice driver, the Orlando mentally unstable and mentally ill repressed homosexual, the guy who carried out a hostage attack in Sydney a couple of years ago had a narcissistic personality disorder, the Chattanooga killer who they said suffered from bipolar disorder and depression....I can't help it, I don't think I'm imagining it I just keep seeing it and I'm sure I'd seen a The Independent piece on a scientific study which had deduced that most Islamic terror attacks were the result of mental illness....you're the King of Google, you can find it I'm sureImploding Turtle wrote:I think you're imagining things. This 'event', as you call it, is politically motivated, is it not? The Islamic State attacks the West for supporting the State of Israel and we all know what a certain individual thinks of that.Rileybobs wrote:It's rather tragic how many people on this forum alone are using this event as a vehicle to peddle their political agenda. ".... The Islamic State attacks the West for supporting the State of Israel....."
If that is the case, why doesn't ISIS ever attack Israel? It's strange that Israel is happy to treat the injured head choppers from Syria in its hospitals.
ISIS is like a wet dream for Israel. One could even be cynical and regard ISIS as cannon fodder for the cause of Eretz Israel.
I can appreciate that some may get confused and conflate "ISIS" with the "Israeli Secret Intelligence Service".

Re: Shots fired outside Westminster
Because it isn't all that easy to attack Israel. Unlike Europe they don't make it easily accessible, they also have very powerful intelligence agencies, and an army to be reckoned with that are not afraid to play hard ball or dirty. IS know they haven't a prayer, they'd rather take out easy targets in the middle east and send in the odd unit here and there into the cosmopolitan cities of Europe; much easier targets.bluelabrador16 wrote:Gosh!

Peace & Love from a Claret in Peckham.
I've starred the enemy in the face myself. He's quite nice, called Kamran, plays 5-a-side but he does like the Transformers movies which makes me question his taste. Clearly out to get us all.

Sorry old bean but I'm certain there's a difference betwen people generally blaming terrorism on mental illness and the authorities, quite reasonably, looking into mental illness as a potential cause/reason these people commit these acts.
We should look at emntal illness as a cause when it comes to some people's vulnerability to terrorist clerics but that doesn't equate to blaming all terrorism from Muslim on mental illness and it's dishonest to the point of lying to suggest anyone is.

I hate the murdering scumbags that commit atrocities like this and it is easy to react in the wrong way but we must guard against it and not have a knee jerk reaction.

For all we know it might be a stream belonging to wwx.killtheinfidels.boom, or whatever. The point is there's no reason to think that image is representative of anything except a bunch of people who can read arabic text who like it when westerners die. There is no context whatsoever. It's even worse than me trying to say that ~40 of Daily Mail comments readers upvoting a deplorable comment is representative of people who can read English, or just representative of Brits, or Americans.
The only reason anyone can have for sharing that image without providing any kind of context is to gin up hatred and to make racist bigots angry.
I expect when we find out where that picture comes from we'll understand more about why all so many seem to find yesterday's attack funny. I bet it's an extremist source.
EDIT: Oh for **** sake. Apparently it's a mainstream Arabic news site.
