Tiny Flags for Man Utd game
Each seat will have a tiny flag attached to it on Sunday, for us to wave as the teams come out.
This has the potential to look really rubbish.

I know we all chastise Leicester for all their flag waving and drum banging, but at least they get proper size flags!

You're being asked to show your support for BFC in the Community and it's a poor do if you can't do this and also donate to BFC in the Community and Pendleside Hospice in the bucket collection. You're not being asked to wave your flag to support the team during the match so for Christ sake show support for how it's meant.

Is it not enough that we can put our hands in our pockets and give generously to a charity many of us will already contribute a good amount to?
Why do we have to wave a tiny flag? What relevance does a tiny flag have to providing palliative care?

I will be waving mine, no problem at all, unlike all you manly, macho cavemen.
For goodness sake, swallow your pride and support two very good and worthwhile
causes.
You never know, one day you may very well need them and be ashamed
that you were too "tough" to wave a flag in support of them at some point in
your neanderthal past.

I'd rather they try something similar to the coloured cards held in the JMc stand before the Chelsea game the other year. That was really effective and would look terrific across all the stands.

Beddie, these tiny flags will just be the gateway. Happy Clappers come soon after, before we go full Leicester and have our very own lookalike of Andre Gray becoming a celebrity.

I'll donate ten pounds if we can have a 'respectful PA welcome to both teams' day. Failing that I think all tiny flags should be used as darts until he gets the message.

The white recycling bag is housed adjacent to the opposition dugout, I'm told, so could everyone please throw their flags in the direction of a Mr J Mourinho who will oversee their appropriate disposal.

Haa Haaa Haaa, when I read the words "Tiny Flag" I didn't expect them to be that tiny...... would the club not have been better donating the money it's cost to produce these directly to the 2 charities in question?

Say it ain't so? What has it come to when Burnley are doing this sort of nonsense... It's the sort of thing you expect at Brighton or Leicester or other such giddy plastic grounds and fans.
While most fans are v supportive to BFC in the community ,quite why we're being engineered into waving the sort of things youd find in a nursery to show our support is surely the brainchild of some Brent like marketing ponce

Jesus. Its drawing attention to two very worthy causes. Evidence by this thread alone.
If you dont want to do it thats your decision. But if it raises awareness, money and anything else for a great cause whats the issue?
Who cares what you look like? People are so conscious about image these days. Think about what the people look like who we are raising money for. Sick. Frail. Etc.

Well done Burnley fc.

And to add to this, there will be many at Turf Moor on Sunday who donate to the Hospice on a regular basis, (not just once a season). We don't need to wave flags to boast about it or raise awareness.

Re: Tiny Flags for Man Utd game
Tiny flags, but slightly bigger than the atmosphere inside Turf Moor thanks largely to what appears to be a fair proportion of miserable b***ers on here.
It seems that anything no matter what, is frowned upon that might just make us all look like 'happy clappers'
A quick show of hands: Near silence (not uncommon at Turf Moor) or 'Happy Clappers?'

Re: Tiny Flags for Man Utd game
The danger with bigger flags is that if someone waves it behind their head, as one might do instinctively, it can poke the eye out of the person behind. It nearly happened to me at Wembley in the play-off final. This just looks like fan emasculation to me. Dortmund got coloured bin bags to wear (god knows what might happened they caught fire). It's using of the fans as numpties, in my view.
I won't wave mine.

Re: Tiny Flags for Man Utd game
If the club are going to do this. You'd have thought they'd put a bit more thought into it. We're playing, arguably; one of the biggest clubs in world football and they're giving everyone those little flags.
They could have took advantage of the increased media coverage, plugged it more and gone to the expense of larger flags at least. Got the Man Utd fans involved in it too. It could have been a nice showcase event to share our community friendly side of things and the club in a good light to a worldwide audience.
It just seems like a token gesture and looks a bit amateurish in my opinion.
Or maybe some sort of commemorative flag where the club donates half the flag sales to charity and fans get a flag to hang in their pub or whatever. It's not like the club can't stretch to the cost of printing flags. I just think the club's missed a trick with this.

Re: Tiny Flags for Man Utd game
I really really like to clap when the players come out so how do I wave the flags at the same time? Such a conundrum.....
EASY! I'll be supergluing the tiny flags to the back of my hands so I can clap like a seal AND support BFC in the a community throughout the game. I suggest you all do the same and stop the bloody moaning!

Amateur is right, it'll look crap, whatever money they spent on the flags would have been better spent donating directly to both charities. Looks proper half arsed. I've already donated online but the flag waving is a no from me.

Re: Tiny Flags for Man Utd game
All charities do this. The first £500 you give, goes to paying the person in the street doing the canvasing. I've donated to charities before and thenh they send you bits of rubbish in the post. It's a business. The actually have religous folkgetting charity status and lottery money, it's a scam.
Re: Tiny Flags for Man Utd game
It's also dangerous, litter creating and it is probably made by plastic dragon country as part of a trade deal to keep folk in the third world busy.
