I really enjoyed the trip to Cork and as you say "we were made to feel really welcome" looking at flights and hotels now

Fantastic location for a friendly game. Definitely gonna be going to this. Frequent flights courtesy of Ryanair, only £34 return, and what looks to be an easy ground to get to. What's not to like?

I doubt I'll see you on the Cork to Cobh train this time. Flights sorted (Thu to Sun). Good price but hotels are not cheap.Barry_Chuckle wrote:I really enjoyed the trip to Cork and as you say "we were made to feel really welcome" looking at flights and hotels now

Manchester to Dublin fly out on the Thursday and fly back on the Saturday. Quite a few different flights to choose from at that price

Have you not considered airbnb? Some pretty good looking properties let as entire homes on there that you can share with your pals. With cleaning fees etc coming in at roughly $200 per night inclusive. (nb dollars - its how my system prices it). Depending on sleeping arrangements that could work out cheap enough

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets set for pre-season in Ireland
So Rovers is it then , boy a Friday night to boot . Galway United were to play in Dundalk that Friday but they will be tied up in a Euro tie , I am guessing Rovers are in the same boat but have not looked yet .
Hotels are just nuts price wise again try South Dublin if you are just in for the game otherwise it will cost you one way or the other .
Anyway looking forward to a trip up to Dublin to watch this one .

No - just the one game. That's how Sean Dyche does it.Garnerssoap wrote:Are they trying to kill us I still won't have recovered from my Bournemouth 3 dayer by then

Whenever we stay up we use the IBIS at The Red Cow. Usually expensive this far out but leave it nearer and they tumble.Walnutwillie wrote:Any cheap deals e.g. Hotels

There's a Luas station adjacent. Same line, one way to the city, t'other for the match.

Hotel sorted for us - not cheap but could have been worse and just 20 mins walk from city centre
The link below is useful if you intend using public transport - and you can get to Tallagh on the Luas with it

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets set for pre-season in Ireland
I have just had a look at the hotel prices as I'm at a Wedding there about 10 days later (already booked) and the prices are ridiculus. I thought we paid a lot but the same hotel has doubled, probably with being the weekend.
If there's a few of you going it might be better to look at apartments or the Student accomadation at Trinity college if they have broke up.

I think a few of us are finding out what an expensive city Dublin is. At least it is inexpensive to get there in terms of the flights.

I've just seen that the Europa League Second Round 1st Leg is scheduled for the day before we're supposed to be playing Shamrock. If they get through, it's likely our game will be called off, or be against their kids.

I still think that you're missing the boat by not taking on Toronto FC and the Atomic Ant. But I guess there are plenty of traditional reasons to go to the Auld Sod. Just don't count me in,even if I am 1/8th Irish.
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets set for pre-season in Ireland
We've just booked flights and a hotel, flights 80 quid and hotel 90 each. Expensive away day
just need to buy a ticket now, can you only buy them on their website ??

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets set for pre-season in Ireland
Don't worry about tickets it's an easy one as they have a booth outside the away end you buy your ticket and away you go simple as that .
Now just a heads up you can get away calling them Shams ( only just ) but anything other than Rovers people will just look at you . Now the Silgo lads will disagree but trust me this is the biggest team here in Ireland .

Heard a rumour that this fixture was happening but it clashes with the Lancs v Yorks t20 game at the Home of Northern Cricket, the Emirates Old Trafford, on the same night.
We already have tickets for this game so the cricket has won.
Already looking forward to it.

Unlikely we will need to use their online facility. I'll advise on site on the ticket info section once I've got it confirmed.Zesty wrote:We've just booked flights and a hotel, flights 80 quid and hotel 90 each. It's not - I'm sure you'll be able to pay on the night in any case but I will check it out. No one is going to miss the game through no tickets, I don't think the ground will be close to being full.Claretmatt4 wrote:Before I go booking a hotel and flights, how hard is it going to be to get tickets?

The Mrs has been wanting to go to Ireland for quite some time so this would have been a great opportunity. However we'll be on our honeymoon on that date so won't be able to go unfortunately.

Draw made on 19 June, just a week before first fixtures are due: http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/ne ... 35180.html
With it being the Europa League, Shamrock could be coming back from an away leg on the other side of Russia the day we're meant to be playing them.

Thanks Beehole, I see what you mean if they do come back under those circumstances either they may play their reserves or rearrange the date/ok time.UpTheBeehole wrote:Draw made on 19 June, just a week before first fixtures are due: http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/ne ... 35180.html
