That's just my thoughts today. Tomorrow three of them would change. The only ever presents would be Noble and Hamilton.

THIS is difficult!
Order is impossible and the fact that I`ve been away from the UK since 2003 waters down some of the players post that year (the internet and live streams DOES help...alleluia!).

Just to be different :
From my boyhood. Jimmy McIlroy, Colin McDonald, Tommy Cummings, PeterMcKay, John Connelly.
From more mature years, after I had left Burnley and saw the Clarets much less.
Robbie Blake, Glen Little, Willie Morgan, Marlon Beresford, Keith Newton
I hope someone (the OP perhaps) collates all the votes and works out the five most popular.

Must admit that I had a real soft spot for Branch (not in that way!). He was the George Boyd MK -1.

I wanted to put Randall in there but that would have been the heart and the head said Blake.

Leighton James: When he ripped England a new one in 1980 I laughed out loud.
John Deary: He grabbed hold of our club by the scruff of its neck and dragged it up off it's arse.
Robbie Blake: First real bit of class we'd had in years.
David Jones: Totally unsung, still doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Tom Heaton: The catalyst, in my opinion, of everything we've achieved and still are achieving.

Leighton James
Martin Dobson
Robbie Blake
Dean Marney
Mike Duff
edit: really really hard to pick just five. These guys were all instrumental to our side at the times they played (or play) though - they've all been parts of promotion winning teams. I thought about Peter Noble, Kindon, Hamilton, Steven, Tony Morley as well as Blake, Eyres and a whole slew of others who could be in tere. I too have a soft spot for Ady randall - what a player he might have been.
