When he was on he wanted to come off
In the first few games he played, it looked as if Dyche was protecting him, presumably for lack of fitness, so he was taken off at the hour-70 minute mark. As he played more, Dyche stuck to this, despite him looking like he could have carried on and at times was the best player on the pitch, although I accept certain games where we needed to dig in were not suited to him and rightly didn't start or was taken off.ClaretTony wrote:Spot on
I accept Injuries hampered him, and sitting in the Longside upper I didn't notice him in constant dialogue with the bench. What I did see was a player willing to run the width of the pitch trying to get a throw in to feet, or asking the centre halves to play it into his feet either from open play or free kicks, so we could build from the back and deep midfield. I saw a player with the ability to unpick a defence with a pass, or score goals like he did against Hull and Bristol City - if a player like that is fit, you build a team around him, and have grafters doing the work to free him up.
