Curtis Davies signs for Derby
Curtis Davies signs for Derby
Good signing that. Very surprised Hull have let him leave given the rumours surrounding both Robertson and Maguire.

Re: Curtis Davies signs for Derby
I think there will be big changes at Hull and I expect both Robertson and Maguire to go as well with Robertson likely to move to Liverpool. Will be interesting to see how they go with Slutsky but he's a big mate of Abramovic so they should be at the top of the queue for Chelsea loans as Middlesbrough were with the Karanka/Mourinho link.
Davies is a good signing for Derby I think - they are building a collection of central defenders.

A slow start for Hull, and it could signal a return to normality ala Rovers .
Solid players leaving and fan/chairman wars very rarely ends well.

Re: Curtis Davies signs for Derby
Given the climate, their 2016 promotion was a surprise which has been repeated further down with Blackpool this year. The fan/owners relationship at Hull is still horrendously bad.MACCA wrote:A slow start for Hull, and it could signal a return to normality ala Rovers .

Re: Curtis Davies signs for Derby
Had a £500k release clause in his contract. Doubt Hull would have let him go otherwise.

Derby fans happy with this on FB last night.
Wonder where that leaves Shackell or Keogh?

Not under any circumstances.
Shackell and/or Keogh finished at Derby, I'd imagine. Fair play to Derby, that's one of their problems solved.

Do you really think Keane is better than Shackell and Keogh?evensteadiereddie wrote:Not under any circumstances.

500k about his true worth.
It's a shame we are dragging our heels 're the signing of Robertson.
Allegedly,he was on his way in January.

Shackell was great for us but I really dont think he is the same player. I would have thought Keogh is a Dyche type player though. In regards to Robertson at Hull, wasn't the deal and terms agreed with the player only for Hull to change their mind. Robertson was not best pleased to put it mildly.

Sorry, colneclaret, you disguised your cleverness so well............
Mind you, there'll be one or two on here wondering about the possibility of one or both coming here.

Why are the owners and fans at war? I thought they have brand new owners as of a couple of weeks ago?

Wasn't it more that they couldn't get the replacement in ?Woodleyclaret wrote:500k about his true worth.

Re: Curtis Davies signs for Derby
Well I for one would have been happy with "shite" playing along side our centre back.

Hardly us dragging our heels. The move was blocked by their end in January and do you really think with the likes of Liverpool now sniffing he's going to turn them down because he nearly signed for us, and possibly still would if the big boys weren't sniffing?Woodleyclaret wrote:500k about his true worth.

As I say you can hardly blame him or our board for circumstances conspiring against us.

Re: Curtis Davies signs for Derby
I thought it was a terrible decision to let Shackell go but Keane and Mee were head and shoulders better than him. It showed after his move to Derby for a final payday.evensteadiereddie wrote:Sorry, colneclaret, you disguised your cleverness so well............

We are a bigger club now. Keogh should be nowhere near our radar I would hope.beddie wrote:Shackell was great for us but I really dont think he is the same player.
