Dyche's Replacement

In the spirit of trying to get some more football threads going, who would you want to succeed Dyche should he leave for Palace? For me, Pearson immediately springs to mind but despite him having had some good spells at different clubs, he's also had some poor ones too. It'd be one hell of an ask to replace SD either way!

I've read that Pearson is good to play for although I agree with the pillock sentiment. I was always worried that we might appoint him when Hoos was here, he'd already appointed him at Southampton and Leicester previously.

Ask me who I'd like if Sean was to leave and I can't even think of a good, considered name to suggest.

He is a bit of a dick, but I can't think of too many others with PL experience who would be available. Perhaps taking a punt on somebody who managed one of the teams that failed to get promoted could be a shout (Stam, Carvalhal etc).

Pardiola's record of good starts followed by failure would worry me, it's been a trend at a few of his clubs. We'd definitely have to be prepared to get rid of him before the rot set in.

I have been stupidly distracted by the politics on the board an I have missed the obvious choice.
Moyes because
1) He is Scottish and we flourish under Scottish managers (look at Dyche he must have some Jock in him)
2) He knows the area and the passionate fans.
3) He knows who is good buy from the Man United Academy rejects.

I cant think of anyone who could take us forward and improve us, there is only Dyche that can do that.

The nearest to Dyche in style and experience is Chris Houghton, but he would have no reason to join us.

The other big worry is that it will take weeks to appoint a new manager on top of the inevitable lull in new signings and new contracts until a new manager is appointed.

This will put us at a severe disadvantage in preparation for the new season unlike the teams that will have a new manager , like Crystal Palace if it happens.

It's a questionI've asked myself a number of times over the last few weeks and there's no easy answer. I'd be tempted to try a Giggs/Mickey Phelan combination. Think it could work well and one of them knows the club inside out.

Grayson is very good at getting clubs out of League One into the Championship but never been able to get far with them once they've gone up. He's been in the running for the Sunderland job.

Dyche has done miracles , to replace him with someone who could keep us in the premier league next season would take another miracle, looking at the potential managers.

First and foremost you have to be hard to beat,think jaap Stam would be ideal.Pity Huddersfield went up though the German would of been my first choice.Are has mentioned Gary monk but he is high in demand.

I'm not sure a player who left the club over 30 years ago is likely to know it inside out.

Here is a bit of an 'out of the box' suggestion. Marcelo Bielsa. The guy is an absolute football nut and expects the same intensity of an SD side. He has been about too and his knowledge of the European markets would be invaluable for our time in the prem. I'm very surprised he hasn't had a job yet at one of the big clubs.

I don't want Dyche to go however!

The guy at Brentford doing a cracking job, and did an even better one previously at Walsall. As for those who think managers from lower leagues are beneath us, were did you think we got Dyche from, Real Madrid?

If Sean leaves we should think very hard about that fella at Burnley. He's worked bloody miracles there. Two promotions to the PL, albeit sandwiched either side of a relegation, but there's no denying he's got what it takes to motivate players to perform better than they have any right to. The guy is absolute quality.

Come on Burnley, do whatever it takes to keep this man here.
