Gu'lad Vokesy.
Not surprisingly, there was a lot of interest from the young local fans in Dublin last night. Given our on field, growing Irish contingent.
And it sounds as though many stayed back after the game for autographs and selfies.
But according to the Lancashire Telegraph Sam Vokes was last to return to changing rooms after meeting the young fans. Without his shirt! Fair play to big Sam.
Taken from the LT -
"Stephen Ward and Kevin Long have been joined in the last 12 months by Jeff Hendrick, Robbie Brady and Jon Walters and all five were popular figures here.
But there’s no doubt it’s Brady who is the main man for the Ireland fans and his goal in the second half was greeted with a raucous cheer from the youngsters in attendance.
Most stayed behind at the end to get autographs and selfies, but it was Sam Vokes who was last off the pitch as he fulfilled every last request, heading back down the tunnel without his shirt."
Well done Big Sam Vokes.

I must admit that I've developed a bit of a man crush on Vokes.
A fantastic professional and I get the feeling that he really enjoys being here.

Look out for the footage of Sam in the Southampton end, at Anfield, with his dad, singing with the lads.Karhu_Claret wrote:I must admit that I've developed a bit of a man crush on Vokes.

I may be in the minority, but I do believe Sam, Vokes is improving year on year. I'm expecting him to have a really good season

He really is benefiting from being settled at last at Burnley after being bounced around the game for so long.

Re: Gu'lad Vokesy.
Sam Vokes would be popular in any team and with any set of fans but, it takes time to build up that rapport.
He does appear to love the fans here at t'Turf. He always has time for you and always has a smile, even when he was hobbling around on his crutches after his knee injury.
Top bloke !

I know from personal experience, Tom Heaton is very much the same.RalphCoatesComb wrote:Sam Vokes would be popular in any team and with any set of fans but, it takes time to build up that rapport.

Re: Gu'lad Vokesy.
I think we are lucky we have quite a few good lads in the team who care about the supporters, I saw Ben Mee signing loads of programs for young and old and of course the obligatory Selfies and he did not walk away on anyone, all done before he went in the tunnel.

A mention for Scotty too. Great with the kids (as was Jonah).
